Private Tour - Santísimo (Culture)

The Eco Park Cerro del Santísimo is a popular attraction in Bucaramanga and therefore it is a must-see for travelers. The statue itself is just 3 meters (10 feet) smaller than the famous statue Cristo Redentor (Christ the Redeemer) in Rio de Janeiro. The special thing about Santísimo is that it is not overcrowded with tourists and that there even is an elevator right behind the statue different to the statue in Rio de Janeiro.

Furthermore, the park offers a magnificent view of the whole metropolitan area of Bucaramanga and is the best place to enjoy a beautiful sunset. In the park you can also find a place where regional wine is sold that is made from oranges, blackberries or grapes and especially souvenir stores and cafés. After the sunset there is a beautiful water show with colors, lights and music. To reach the park you have to take a cable car that takes you 500 meters up the hill and during the ride you will have an incredible view on the tropical rainforest.

Private Tour - Guadalupe Las Gachas (Nature)

The swimming holes “Las Gachas” in Guadalupe are a unique natural phenomenon. The reddish color of the rocks makes it a beautiful setting and a perfect place to take awesome pictures. The part of the river that passes above and beneath the swimming holes is almost 1 km long and you will get to know all parts of the “red river”.

The tour starts with a 20-minute hike over the grasslands of Guadalupe. You will arrive at the upper parts of Las Gachas which are not known by many tourists and with a high probability you and the guide will be the only people there. Going down the red river you will arrive at similar holes between very slippery rocks, a perfect place to try the natural slides. Las Gachas end in a 15‑meter high waterfall hidden behind dense forest. Right next to the waterfall there is a small finca of a very nice Colombian couple who grows a wide variety of fruits growing on their farm.

Private City Tour - Bucaramanga / Girón / Santísimo (Culture)

As the fifth largest metropolitan area in Colombia as well as being known as the safest and cleanest city in the country, Bucaramanga offers a lot of interesting places to see, like important buildings in the city center, a historic museum, the famous leather shoe outlets, shopping malls, Colombia´s largest hanging bridge, etc.

Girón is located in Bucaramanga´s metropolitan area and it is one of the 17 towns of national heritage in Colombia. Its well-conserved colonial architecture makes it an interesting place to visit and you will be able to imagine how the people lived here 300 years ago. At the end, you will enjoy an amazing view of the entire metropolitan area from the Eco Park Cerro del Santísimo, which will be reached by cable car. The Santísimo is with 37 meters the highest statue in Colombia and a must-see during your stay in Bucaramanga. In addition, the park offers souvenir stores, a place that sells wine made from oranges and blackberries, and a water show at night.

Private Tour - Natural Finca El Jardín (Hiking/Trekking)

During the hike to the natural finca “El Jardín” you will get to know the rural Colombian life at a place far away from the mainstream tourism. The finca is located 2 driving hours north of Bucaramanga. Driving that far, you will arrive in a region where there is no pollution from the city and where the people live almost completely independent.

During the approx. 5 km (3.1 mile) hike that takes you about 500 m up the mountain, you will see different animals and the diversity of plants and fruits that Colombia offers such as cacao, bananas, aloe vera, papayas, passion fruits, etc. As you get higher up the hill you can enjoy the great astonishing view of the landscape which is a mixture of mountainous tropical rainforest and grassland. At the finca you can jump into a natural pool, drink from a little waterfall that comes right out of its natural water source and/ or just relax in a hammock. A self-cooked lunch will be served with fresh natural juices.

In February/March 2020 our family group of four spent 8 days in Colombia, 3 in Bogota and 5 in the Department of Santander. Wolf Tours handled all of the arrangements and tours in Santander, and they did a superb job. Just before we arrived, an avalanche blocked the main road from Bucaramanga to San Gil. Dominic saved the day by adjusting our schedule. Among our activities were visits to Giron, Santisimo, Chicamocha Canyon, a cacao finca, a pineapple planation, Lago Topocoro and Rio Sogamoso, and Paramo Santurban (highlight of trip for me, unique ecosystem at 12,000 feet above sea level.) Our guide Carlos was exceptional-- well informed, helpful, patient. Perfectly fluent in English, he also helped us practice our Spanish. By the end of our trip, he became a member of the family, and with our highly professional driver Hector, we formed a real team. Our group gives Wolf Tours and guide Carlos our highest and most enthusiastic recommendation. We are already planning a trip to Barichara, Socorro, and the Department of Boyaca with Carlos.

I spoke with Dominic who was very understanding & worked well passed 11:30pm to ensure everything was prepared for us. In the morning, we were picked up by Carlos, our tour guide. His passion & love for his country resonnates with all the information & knowledge he has for his young age. All staff were very personable & courteous. Would recommend to everyone. I will be booking with them again upon my return..

We had a great experience with Wolf tours. It is very easy to contact them and they were quick to respond. We were a family of 7 of which 3 are living and Colombia and 4 in Sweden, different ages, different interests and different languages. We were looking for a flexible and private tour but not overpriced and that was exactly what we got. We got to see beautiful mountains, El parque de Chicamocha, Barichara, El santisimo en Floridablanca, San Gil and El Socorro. Carlos was very helpful, patient and was always on time. Thanks for a beautiful trip and best of luck.

We booked the 3day tour and were very happy with it! From the beginning we had the possibility to ask every question we had. The communication was top! The full tour was very good organized and our touguide (Carlos) was so kind <3 I can only recommend it! Also for the extreme sports:the prices are very good! Also nice hotels! And you get to see things you wouldn't see if you search on Google and just go there like other tourists!
