Very nice but

The airport needs upgrading. The security process needs revising. I went for a meeting. There were delegates from other countries. I was singled out for interrogation going in and coming out. For my departure experience though I answered the questions correctly and briefly, the security officer seemed disappointed and kept repeating his questions in different ways until 2 other delegates intervened. He was also skeptical of my passport, saying that he never saw it before. I am sure that ICAO has clear guidelines on airport security procedures so that interrogation techniques do not border on brow-beating a passenger.

A must visit on a Sunday!
Feb 2016 • Friends
This is the place to go on a Sunday when you don't know what to do. El Prado is one of the most beautiful hotels you will see in the city. It has an incredibly interesting history behind it too, the whole neighbor hood does.

If you are looking for some where to go on a Sunday then this is it! You can pay a minimal cost to use their pool facilities and at the same time they offer an incredible Sunday meal that will certainly fill you up! Worth checking out.

Only reason they don't get the score of 5 is because the service could be improved, they weren't really that attentive to our needs, we had to look for a waitress every time we needed something and even to get the bill.

Strolling through this neiborhood was so enjoyable. Seeing the old mansions of an older time was a treat. One of the nicest ares of Barranquilla. Many choices for food and cocktails.

Love the history

We have high hopes for the future of this hotel. It's sadly run down but was recently acquired by Marriott, so it should return soon to it's lovely original state. Grace Kelly stayed here, and many other stars from the old days. Well worth a visit and a drink at the bar.
