About
One of Barranquilla's best places to go out, La Troja is an institution in Barranquilla. You can stay outside and cool down after a day in the sun or try to make your way to the busy dance floor. Definitly a place to go to if you are to stay in Barranquilla between Thursday to Saturday night.

Visiting La Troja is visiting a cultural institution. Each song flows into the next. The beat is constant and the people are friendly and might even show you how to dance :)

A wonderful outdoor speak-easy with live music as well as onsite DJ. Great drinks, lots of dancing- a must for nightlife when in Barranquilla.

We went there with friends to watch a soccer game (local team was playing). The atmosphere was crazy! To me, beers were quite cheap even though I'm sure you can find cheaper places in Barranquilla. There were lots of locals, music was very loud and after the game people started dancing. It's definitely a must place to visit if you're in Barranquilla and you're not scared of loud music!

Wanted to go dancing with my friends!
The area is sketchy, the club was very dirty, had a strong odor, it needs to close for a few days and clean the place!
Only ordered a bottle of beer.
We had 1 quick drink and left, not impressed at all with the service or what appeared to be very dangerous clientele!

Hello Jay, I think something is wrong with your description and I think you went to a different place, because thats not the description of La Troja, Even more because our place is air open and is not closed, the place do not have odors, the area is very well protected by 20-30 policemen every night more likely because this is the number 1 nightlife place in the city for tourist and locals.

This place has amazing dancing to be seen every night of the week!! We were there for Carnaval and the party exploded out into the street and was insanely fun! I'd highly, highly recommend checking this place out, even just to watch salsa. It's technically a restaurant but the dancing comes first! We didn't even eat, we just bought beers from a vendor on the street and danced our hearts out!

I went to Barranquilla to enjoy the carnival. La Troja is the meeting point during carnaval. Here al locals come together to meet each other and having a good time.
For foreigners this is the place to be if you want to have a good time with the locals during the carnaval. Please bring with you a big smile and openminded attitude. You will be surprised how the local community welcomes people from other countries. They like to to have a chat with you, dance with you and a free glass of rum will be offered.
The only thing to be aware of are pickpockets, most of the time the ones who are trying to rob you are travestites, be careful.
Summary, when visiting Colombia do not miss the Barranquilla carnaval and have a nice time with the crowd at La Troja.
One thing, this is not a nice place for backpackers.
