Compared to the pedestrian streets in Guangzhou or Shenzen it is really lame. But its not bad. A bit boring but gives you something to do if stuck in the city. Not very long.

Wuma Street is good place for shopping all king of brand and budget lifestyle products. Better to avoid weekend , enjoy the way of local chinese people shop and enjoy the local street atmosphere . I loved it , must visit.

Nice place for shopping and having dinner there.
But a lot of people on day light and evening. Be careful.

I visited Wenzhou three times or so. Wuma street was the place to be and this has changed in the past decades. It used to be the shopping area of Wenzhou with luxury brands where high class people came to shop. Nowaydays they sell low or middle class cloths and goods.

In my experience, Wuma is not a street I need to visit. Merely because the shops are not my cup of tea. Though, I would advice that you know where it is and how to pronounce the street. All the locals know Wuma Street. It is really easy to find and also a good starting point to find you way back to the hotel.

As for the shopping, if do not want to spend to much on bags or cloths Wuma is the street to be. If you want to spend a bit more for better quality you should try the mainstreet that is parallel to Wuma Street; Shamaohe Street. Of course you also have more luxury European brands in Wenzhou, but the prices are not perhaps more expensive than in your own country due to the high inboud costs.

I normally walk by Wuma Street and go into a sidestreet of Wuma, where you eat delicious wonton soup.

Alert: Wenzhou is not a safe city due to the high rate of pickpockets/robbers. These are mainly people from the countryside and try to survive in the big city. They even rob you in broad daylight and crowded areas and not to mention at night. If you are going to stroll down the city to shop or market, I advice that you do not to wear juwellery such as watches necklace and bracelet of gold or whitegold, and watch out for your money/wallet.

This used to be the primary location for high end stores however the higher end stores have now moved to a couple of kms south. Now is a collection of chain stores and mom/pop stores that cater to middle / upper income class. It is a fun place to visit and spend a few hours however it will not satisfy serious shoppers.

Weekends have that very busy bustle feel.

Not necessarily a place you would want to visit again and again.

There's the North side & South side to the Wuma Street. Near the 5 horse statue are 2 great big restaurants to eat & pick out your dishes. Beware as you can get carry away w/ the ordering. Our bill came out to almost 500rmb before you know it. The street is filled w/ shops. Recently, most jewelry which sort of lost its appeal as a fun shopping area. Some of the younger trendy shops carry great deals but as a foreigner, i'm not sure one will want to walk around w/ their brand. In the middle of the section, there's a nice Pizza Hut for foreigners where you can order some western food. Other than that, its mostly the cities own authentic lamb skewers, chicken thighs, dry squid etc. Every year around the Chinese new yr time, they hang about 1000 nice red lanterns which really brings the spirit of the holiday. Enjoy & shop away 7 don't forget to bargain at the small shops.

Nice pedestrian streets. Reminded us the Tianzifang shopping zone in Shanghai but it is less crowded in here.

Visited here on New Years Day, It was extremely busy and I had a good feel for the city.

Standard shops, with many places to eat. Super busy. I will return next time I am in the city. Good for a walk

This street is similar to any other shopping street you may come across in China. We just walked along the street and did not shop although there are lots of shops on the street. The street itself is not too long and is manageable within 15-20 mins at a slow pace. Having been to similar streets elsewhere there was nothing extraordinary about it.
