Heritage Landmark downtown Nigbo

This building is the main heritage landmark in downtown Ningbo. It is fully open to the public. There is a commercial street at the back, not very authentic though.

Worth a visit

A nice old tower, from long ago. Worth a visit, although on its own, it may not be worth going too much out of your way yo get to. There are lots of things to see nearby, though, so combine it with other sights.

The tower is not far from Tianyi square. It is located in the old part of the city, you can go to the top to see the scenery if you wish.
Behind the tower you will find many streets with local restaurants and traditional cuisine, and you can also buy souvenirs.
There are a few places for dumplings and noodles, but their menu is Chinese, but some of them have photos. I personally recommend that you go to many places in Ningbo with your Chinese friend's or Chinese colleagues because it helps explain and translate.
If you like to see traditional things like me, I suggest you check it out.

From my experince it's should be just a nice to see place on your list . not that exciting for me as lot of similar structure places available in every city in China

I visited it in the evening when it was dark. The tower is impressively lighten up as well as the shop streets behind it.
Plenty of local food - restaurants and take away's.
Place to find some souvenirs, of course.

If you buy a lot take a taxi back
But remember to get a card with your hotels name and address in Chinese
Taxi is very cheap

Interesting Street market

The peaceful evening stroll through the Drum Tower Complex came as a surprise as I expected a crowded busy market environment. Safe and family friendly, this is an outing that is highly recommended.

as seen in the drum tower. Some good souvenirs to be had. Maybe some local snacks. Do not miss Zhongshan Park at the end of walking street. Park full of locals doing their own thing especially on Sundays!

Drum tower is under renovation now but the surrounding shops and food stalls make this a must go place in Ningbo.

Drum tower and the market road behind it is a nice little break from the other Ningbo activities. Loads of food stalls, try the whole disquisition in the stick and ask for extra hot sauce! Yummy, also stinky black fermented tofu, the hero sausages, big chicken souvlakis 3 to 10 yuan, the Chinese pizza, and everything in a stick. Don’t forget you he help the beggars, for a mere 10 yuan you can make their day, less money than a candled apple on a stick but a huge difference to them. Right behind the market starts a beautiful park that takes you to the river walk, which can take you back to Tianyi square!
