About
The Old Bund highlights Ningbo's character and the city's willingness to merge history with modern development. The oldest of its kind in China, the Bund is a showcase of British and Dutch architecture. It is now a confluence of pubs, restaurants, bars and trendy shops.

The only downside about China and tourists is not being able to use Alipay. But anyway, if you want a night out with great music and entertainment then look no where else.

We started off in an Irish bar and the bar staff spent most of their time on their phones, but anyway we had a few rounds of free pool and moved on to a few other bars.

Nearly all of them had live music and I always find Chinese music better than western music. The locals and tourists alike were all friendly.

Got to admit, got drunk and then ended up at the nearest KFC before going back to the hotel. Just so that we sobered up a bit.

The bund area has a few places to drink & eat during the warm months of the year however they close during Winter. Its always nice to stroll along as the river is lit up by neon lights.

Old bund can be found directly in the Ningbo city center at the north river bank at the rivers confluence.
Its most famous part are old buildings just next to the catholic church. This area is full of cafes and bars and it is very busy at nights. I recommend to go there at least once at night and enjoy its crazy atmosphere full of lights and music. During the day bars are closed (you will find just a few cafes open), but then you have finally time to admire beautiful architecture of old buildings. Or you can walk along the river, watch ships and view statues in Ningbo City Exhibition.
Old bund is also a good starting point to several other Ningbo attractions such as Ningbo gallery, catholic church, coins museum, Quing'an hall and a few others which are in walking distance.

Nice at night, many bars and pubs, looks "western" but still be prepared for Chinese way of thinking and behaving everywhere. During the day quite quiet, not many places are open. Sill nice old houses to see. You can see many photographers making pictures of young couples, a favourite Sunday afernoon activity.

The place is great at night for brightly lit buildings and bridges which will take your breath away. Not much of a dining place but more pubs. So I will suggest you have your dinner elsewhere before proceeding to this place.

The Old Bund is bar central for Ningbo. Its a quaint area with 3 floor buildings right on the river. The streets are filled with bars and restaurants. It is hopping with night life. They have all kinds of bars and many with live entertainment. Definitely the place to go at night.

This was an official trip to Ningbo , Shanghai and Qingdao in May 2007. I travelled on 5th may 2007 to 12th may to China from Hyderabad. Reached Begumpet airport at 10 pm for a 12.30 am flight to Singapore by Singapore airlines. Reached Changi airport at 4.30 am. This was a transit to Shanghai. Singapore airlines serves a variety of foodies and drinks and i was awake all night watching movies. The shanghai flight was at 7 am and we reached at Shanghai airport at around 11.30 am.

We took to taxi from Shanghai to Ningbo, Cixi.We stayed at Ningbo hotel. Cixi is a beautiful town in Ningbo. Cixi International is one of the beast hotels to stay at Ningbo.

After meeting our clients on 7th, we took off to Shanghai by Chinese airlines. Shanghai is one of the advanced cities in the world and the infrastructure is an absolute beauty to watch. It is one of the most costliest city in the world. We stayed in Shanghai for 4 days.

On one of the days , we went to Qingdao to meet our clients. Qingdao is a small quiet town and people friendly all around.

The trip was a memorable one to cherish with the spectacular view all around.
