This place is probably most suited for bicyclists rather than hikers as there are not many hiking trails. However, it still is a nice getaway from the city, walk and enjoy the scenery. There is also a "Budda Valley" temple area (55RMB entrance) that offers some nice paths to walk on, beautiful ponds and historical artifacts from the Qin dynasty.

Visiting Dapeng Mountain

If you are tired of the city and just want to relax and enjoy Nature while exploring Chinese culture, Dapeng Mountain is your destination.
Take bus No. 226 from the East Terminal and get ready for a 50 minute bus ride through Cixi’s the neighbouring mountains, with breath-taking views.
Once you get to the terminal, walk back along the main road and catch the mini-bus taking you up to the top of the mountain. The bus fare is 10 RMB both ways.
The ride to the top is about 10 minutes, through a winding narrow road with views of scattered lakes nestled among the rising mountains.
On the top, you can choose to go even higher, and visit Xufu Temple. The entry fee is 50 RMB, for that you can hike for few hours, visit the Temple and its surroundings.
Remember that the last day from the mountain leaves at 16.20.
If you visit in the spring time you can catch the sunset over the Lake, before taking the last bus back at 17.25.
There are not many options to eat out so you might want to pack your own snack for the day,
Enjoy!
