One off the list of things to do
Oct 2021
Just something to go see and mark off your list of things to do here in chengdu . It’s the center of the city , central area if your actually looking on the map your literally in the center . Good place to take pics when there’s not much people around. Lights up at nights even more pretty.

Quick trip, nothing here!
Jul 2021 • Solo
Yep, so it is a big open square. That's a fact! But not much here at all. Had a quick stroll, admired the flowers and that's about it! The Science and Technology museum sits overlooking the square, and there is a Starbucks and Pizza Hut there. Don't plan on being here long!

Large Open Square for Leisure Walk
Nov 2019 • Business
Large open space where people walk in leisures. On the map, Tianfu Square is literarily the center of Chengdu city relative to the rings of the circular highways. From the street level, you can go downstairs to the subway station, the mall, and plenty of eateries. On north of the square is Sichuan Science and Technology Museum, with a large statue of Mao Zedong at the front of the building. On the west is Chengdu Museum New Building, which is a great museum depicting the history of Chengdu; you are welcomed to read my review on the Chengdu Museum.

No Fountain Show
Nov 2019 • Couples
I don't fully see the appeal of the square, though that may be biased as we went on a damp, cold autumn day. It is a large open space nestled in the heart of the CBD, with nice water features and music, and certainly no shortage of eateries. It is nice to visit and I've heard that some in Chengdu consider it a 'must-do', however in my opinion it is no more than a short part-day filling activity. We heard they do a water fountain show also, however this did not commence at the scheduled time so I can only assume, like in Xi'an this year, that it may have ceased for the winter.

Not very exciting
Oct 2019
All lit up at night and full of people when we were there (but it was Golden Week in October). Much better things to see elsewhere in Chengdu.

Landmark of Chengdu
Dec 2018 • Family
Nice scenery to see this landmark with a big Mao Ze Dong statue on the front. Good to take picture. There is subway station and shopping centers downstair. Not much to do other than for taking pictures.

A nice town square with a mall underground. Water fountains at night are wonderful. Nice restaurants, shopping, and fun for the kids.

Not much going on during the day
Jul 2019
Went here during the day to check it out and not much going on. There is the metro underneath the square with shops and restaurants. I'm not sure what line it was as I didn't use the metro (just walked from the Mercure Hotel). There is the Sichuan Science and Technology Museum across the street, along with the Sichuan Museum as well. People's Park is a short walk away.
Probably the best thing to do here is to go to the local Starbucks to sit inside and people watch.
