Claire was our private tour guide through Wendy Wu travel. She was excellent, very friendly and knowledgeable. She collected us from the station after we took the bullet train and we checked into the Ritz Carlton which was superb. Claire collected us for dinner at a terrific restaurant close to the hotel where we had a Sichuan hot pot meal which we loved. The next day we left early to avoid the crowds and travelled to the Panda research base. Although it was crowded even arriving early we were able to see lots of pandas. There were tiny pandas a few months old, young ones and adults. They were very active eating and playing with each other. Sadly we had to catch the train in the afternoon and didn’t have a lot of time to explore Chengdu in any depth. In this short time though we were very impressed with Claire and would highly recommend her to anyone wanting a guide, especially for the pandas which she clearly loves.

Three of us spent an incredible day at the panda sanctuary and city tour with Martin who spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable, patient and good humoured. Totally worth the money per person. The private car was a nice four wheel drive that was quite luxurious. Left our hotel at 730am sharp and the advice to leave then was perfect as the panda park was packed with people a couple of hours after. Request Martin as he really was the best. And with the private driver you can leave things in the vehicle in between stops which was handy.

This was a great day tour. We chose this tour because of the high speed train trip to Leshan. Ivy our tour guide made our trip so memorable with her expert knowledge and guidance. The fish lunch by the fishing village was delicious. We are seniors and handled the steps up to the Grand Buddha without a problem. Many people so the pace was easy. Marvellous views from the water below looking up to the Buddha. Thank you Ivy for such a lovely and informative guide. We now want to come back next year.

We spent two days in Chengdu with Luna from Odyssey tours. We were in China for 17 days with Odyssey and Luna was the absolute best. Not only extremely knowledgable, but also very friendly, kind, generous and as many adjectives that you can use. We happened to be there on my wife's birthday and at lunch she had purchased a small cake unbeknown to us as a surprise, with her own funds. If you happen to tour Chengdu and can get Luna as your guide, you will have the best time ever!
