The building is obviously huge and we barely touched the surface during our visit, but there are so many things here that you’re sure to find something that interests you. There’s shopping, restaurants, cinema, ice rink, hotel etc. For us, the highlight was the water park- we had such a fun day abs will be back again for sure!

The mall is just essentially the largest shopping mall in the world. If you've seen a mall, you have seen 95 percent of what is in this building. Of interest, however, are a few points: 1) the waterpark which I will detail below, 2) the fascination of mall goers with a rather average BMW on display. Really didn't get that as we walked past nicer cars in the lot on the way into the building... And 3) know that the mall doesn't Zamboni their ice rink anywhere near the necessary amount and my kid gashed open his knee on the jagged ice... Wear jeans and skate at your own risk. Moving right along to that waterpark... This is the nicest indoor waterpark I have seen anywhere in the world. That being said, there are some things that differentiate it from others internationally. 1) you can not re-enter the park, so expect to buy some moderately overpriced food and drinks. However, given that food in China is generally so inexpensive, the overpriced food is still a relative value by international standards, and variety was good. 2) most Chinese can't swim, so the park requires lifevests in very odd places, such as 3ft deep water. Also, kids under 1.4 m tall are forbidden to do much other than the kiddie rides. No lazy river with the kids. The little ropes course is also off limits, though there is one outside the park in the mall on ground floor for 80 RMB per kid. 3) prepare yourself for nudity. I am no prude, please understand, and have traveled fairly extensively throughout the world, but just FYI, you will see more naked people at this waterpark than you may be accustomed to seeing: infants and toddlers don't bother with swimwear here. Also, they apparantly don't like bathrooms either because you will see parents holding them to urinate on the floor kinda all over the place. I'd like to remind you that this is an INdoor waterpark. Also, while women wear swim dresses that are quite modest for the most part, the men are fond of speedo type swimwear and seem to be very comfortable parading around the changing rooms fully nude. This was an opportune time to teach the four year old that it's not polite to point and laugh at other people's genitals. So, overall, while the kids did enjoy the artificial beach and the kiddie rides, unless your family is all over 1.4m tall, there will be large parts of the park that they can't do, leaving my kids preferring Great Wolf Lodge to this park, but if your family is taller, it is really a great park. Mind you, at the time of this writing, the park is only one year old. Time will tell how it holds up. There are some obvious engineering flaws, such as the staff with the oversized squeegees on poles directing water into drains in the floor. Clearly the designers didn't anticipate the floors getting wet at this...waterpark. Floors can get quite slippery, so please "do not running"as the signage recommends. Also, people bypass the sand rinsing station by lifting kids over the wall from the beach, tracking sand everywhere, but there are adequate staff to clean up and overall, the park is a worthwhile diversion for a family in Chengdu.

Okay, all trip advisor reviews will have about 5 percent dills whining about how dreadfull something was, and if you are like me, you will factor that 5 -10 percent dope factor into your decision to visit. I was glad we did. People, this is a shopping centre, not the pyramids, not the taj mahal, not the grand canyon....a shopping centre. The train stops at the front door, its free, the station is accessed via underground walkway, so you dont have to walk through the cold to get inside, there are a thousand shops, an Intercontintal hotel, amusement parks, man made beach, ice skating rinks, restaurants....and it is 19 million sq feet in area!!! It is massive. The ceiling is entirely made of glass and has a man made sun which beams through the glass, so even if it is cold and overcast outside, its comfortable and looks like summer inside. My suggestion, if you are pushed for time here, don't put other things off to do it. But if you like to experience things that are massive and designed well, head out. It is easy to get to and costs you nothing but 50cents on the train.

There is only one word to describe the shopping centre - BIG. After being on a day tour and heading back to our hotel, we decided at the last minute to detour to Global Centre. We were so pleased to see this amazing complex. As we walked through the main entrance and being probably the only "Western" person there, a little girl came and greeted us with.............."Hello, my name is Cindy, Welcome to China".........her parents were there and we walked over to them to say Thankyou to them for such a beautiful greeting from Cindy. We had some pictures taken and chatted briefly and said a fond goodbye to them. We started walking around this big shopping centre, the main foyer is massive with marble floors, long escalators and shops of every type possible..........clothing, food and so on......just Google the place and you can see how much variety is offered. The whole place was spotless and just enjoyable to walk around - you could easily spend a few hours here.

This is cracked up to be the biggest mall in the world. I’d been to the Edmonton mall in Canada when it claimed to be the world’s biggest so I had to go and see the competition.
It’s big, brash and I’m sure they’ve used the world’s supply of marble. There are all the brands you would expect and a few I’d never heard of before. I just get the impression in these places that few people are buying anything (except in the food courts) and most people seem to be rubbernecking. I remember that Edmonton had lots of manned information stations whereas New Century has none that I could find.
It’s got a pretty mediocre skating rink and a giant beach lookalike swimming pool where everyone in the water seemed to have to wear life jackets or perhaps it was non-swimmers hour.
I remember Edmonton as being much more exciting and imaginative but I was a good deal younger then.
It’s worth a trip if you’ve got nothing more important to be doing.

This is a huge construction in the horizontal. Was great to spend an entire day at a shopping centre with husband without him getting bored. He to was in awe, but more for seeing the beams and construction details in all the open areas; skating swimming, shopping, eating this place does have it all. Not the tallest, but certainly the biggest.

Looking huge from a far distance, the New Century has gained it's own reputation as"the biggest building" in Asia. The 1-5 floors as a whole, is a shopping center, with all kinds of good shops, cinema, hotel, amusement part, and higher floors are business zone. You can get there by Metro Line one, and the stop name is"Jincheng Plaza".

The Global Centre is the world's largest building (in terms of square footage). The building is home to offices, a conference centre, apartments, hotels, 2 shopping centres, a waterpark, a university, and a movie theatre.
Most of the giant building is uninteresting to tourists. The highlights are the mall and waterpark.
The mall is itself a piece of art. The floors and walls are covered with beautifully veined brown/cream marble. The sides of the escalators are covered with LED screens. It's amazing. It's as impressed as I can get by a mall. The shopping options offered are fairly western-geared.
Being Canadian we couldn't help but buy a poutine (fries, cheese and gravy) at the New York Fries on the 4th floor.
We visited the waterpark, which was a letdown for us. You have to walk through the mall in your swimsuit to get to the swimming area, which is weird. Our kids (who are accustomed to going on larger waterslides) were only allowed on the "baby" waterslides. The wave pool is only about 4 feet deep and everyone HAS to wear a lifejacket regardless of age, size, or ability.
We spent most of our time there just lounging in the hot pools because the rest of the facility was too boring for us.
The coolest part about the pool is the GIANT LED screen. It's 150 m by 40 m, which is bigger than an American Football Field. It's HUGE!! The screen shows television shows, music videos, and sunsets over the "beach" of the wave pool. It's pretty cool.
Anyway the giant building was reduced to a mall and a waterpark for me. The mall is pretty, but it's still a mall. The waterpark was a letdown for us because the kids were bored because they couldn't do what they wanted.
To get here ride metro line 1 south to Jinjiang Plaza.

A lot of people have said that this attraction is boring and not impressive. I completely disagree. Although, in essence, it is just a mall, there are so many unusual and interesting things to see.
The architecture of the biggest building in the world is a beauty in its own right. It's absolutely stunning and massive. Words and pictures cannot describe how massive it is.
Inside, there's a water park and an artificial beach. During winter, the beach seemed to be turned into a giant ball pit.
There's an Intercontinental inside the mall, and it is also really large. It seems a lot of the guests make use of the hot spring area, although I'm not sure if it's free to them.
There's a small amusement park for kids, and an array of entertainment for the young ones.
As usual, one can find the usual western brands as well as popular Chinese brands. Starbucks, McDonalds, Pacific Coffee, Uniqlo, Imiss etc. prices are about the same as usual, and not inflated.
The easiest way to get there is to take line 1 of the metro station to the Jincheng Plaza. Follow the signs to the mall. They are well-marked and in English.

Its the largest building by floor area in the world. It has a shopping mall, an indoor water theme park and cinema. Indeed an eye opener for me. Definitely worth a visit.

They have everything! It's huge. Also have different sections for the type of store it is. I personally wasn't shopping in those kind of shops so can't say 100% but I am sure they would.
