East Lake Park is more commonly known as Donghu Gongyuan in Pinyin. It is easy to get to as it is close to a BRT stop on the 2nd ring road. You can walk around the lake in under an hour. Plenty of places to sit down and relax. Can spot egrets and herons here. From here you can walk 20 minutes up stream to the Wangjiang Pavilion Park, or 20 minutes downstream to where the JinJiang and Shahe rivers converge.

The only natural lake in Chengdu, East lake is lovely to walk around. Don't expect any other activities though as there is no fishing, swimming, boating, or walking on the grass allowed. Still for a peaceful stroll it is pleasant enough.There is an art gallery/museum at the west gate of the park but it only opens if it is hosting an exhibition.
