Beihu Park is located in the North East of Chengdu and can be reached by the number 85 bus. Other buses such as the 86 and 112 stop a block away, but it pays to have a GPS to find your way there. This park is one of the largest and yet under visited in Chengdu. It was really peaceful and there was plenty of herons, ducks and other birds in the vicinity. Beihu means "North Lake" and took about an hour to walk around. It seems to be abandoned and allowed to return to nature, as many features of an old amusement park have been abandoned, giving the place a post apocalyptic feel. Despite this, I really enjoyed my visit as it was not overcrowded like so many other places and wildlife is having he opportunity to reestablish itself.

A nice way to spend a couple of hours. Of course, here, as everywhere else in China, it is crowded, but at least the crowds go at a more leisurely pace. There is a little children's small amusement park, a beautiful lake, lots of scenic paths, and places to sit and have tea. The admission price is very reasonable, and it is a nice change from the regular touristic attractions.
