- Stephen CSingapore, Singapore1,082 contributionsGood and efficient subway systemThe subway system is relatively easy to use.  They have the single trip ticket that goes as low as 2 RMB for a stop, and a 20 RMB option that is valid for a day. The trains are clean, comparable to the ones in Singapore and Hong Kong, and cleaner than the ones in New York city. It is definitely the best option, especially if  you are travelling within the city as traffic congestion can be unbearable during peak hours.Visited April 2021Traveled as a coupleWritten April 24, 2021
- eqfcf4 contributionsww2d32d34r42r34r34r34r322First and foremost, I want to say that I recommend coming to see the Giant Pandas (if you are already in Chengdu) and this place will be worth your trip. However, I WAS BITTEN BY A RED PANDA. The enclosure for the Red Pandas have holes in the gates so the pandas can run from area to area. This was not on any of the signage so I was surprised to see a panda run right across the path in front of me. There are signs that say to be quiet and a different sign that something to the effect that these pandas can be aggressive. I was quietly walking through the enclosure, taking photos wVisited December 2020Written December 1, 2020
- Michael LizarChongqing, China356 contributionsFirst time to go to Chengdu! So impressed with the Chengdudong railway station! As the largest and I used a high-speed train from Chongqing to get here (cost 144å…ƒ) to be honest, I get confused, haha. So crowded, and I need to get out here first and looking for a taxi to go to Home Inn. On the last day, I get back to school by myself; I need to get the ticket first in the locket and queue with the Chinese citizen and then get inside the lounge by showing my passport. A vast panoramic windows inside! It was a forget able moment; tbh I get nervous here. I don't know why, hahaVisited January 2020Traveled on businessWritten December 3, 2020

- InnaYYZToronto, Canada1,489 contributionsGood Metro systemThe portions I was on were relatively new, with escalators at the stations. This is especially helpful to those with luggage, and heavy things to carry. For example, Beijing's older Metro stations generally do not have escalators, making it difficult, especially for the elderly, to carry heavy loads down and up. The subway cars are nice, and I found it easy to get around on Lines 1, 2, 7 and 10.Visited August 2019Written August 17, 2019
- dkinsmanKunming, China67 contributionsChengdu Metro a great way to get around ChengduIf you're travelling to Chengdu the Chengdu Metro is a very convenient and efficient way to get around the city. The metro serves all of Chengdu's main attraction, and it convenient ad very good value. Chengdu is a very expansive city, and taxis can cost quite a lot, plus they are often stuck in traffic etc. Whereas the Metro is always on time, it allows you to get to all of the city's main areas and outskirts, and it low cost. The Metro is very popular so if you can avoid peak hours, as it gets very crowded.Visited August 2019Written September 6, 2019

- happybirthdaytoyouCrewkerne, United Kingdom102 contributionsMaps? This is an excellent subway system that is easy to navigate but it really would help if the management spent a few yuan sticking up a few maps of the system to help passengers plan their journeys. All the self service tickets machines display in Chinese but all have an English button in the bottom right of the screen. Take a photo of the English language system on the ticket machine before you buy your first ticket.Visited June 2019Traveled soloWritten June 21, 2019
- Joey NBurbank, California74 contributionsExcellent way to travel around Chengdu. The Chengdu metro is very clean and efficient. Trains are air conditioned and not as crowded as Shanghai or Beijing (at least not yet). Highly recommend to get the Tianfu Tong card to save time buying metro tickets. The card costs 30RMB but you get discounted fares every time you use it and you can keep it as a souvenir.Visited April 2019Traveled with familyWritten April 15, 2019
- BooberRNColumbia, South Carolina89 contributionsOne of the best metros I have used...The subway in Chengdu is fabulous:cheap (less than$1 USD for most journeys), clean, efficient, and easy to use even if you do not know Mandarin. The automatic ticket dispenser has an English option and is quite simple to use. Just click English in the lower right corner, and take it from there. Look up your destination by name or map, choose number of passengers, and purchase the ticket. Fares vary by distance. You can also purchase a frequent use card at the same machine and top it off as needed. To get to the train, walk through the security area at each entry (if you have a bag of any sort it has to go through a scanner). Scan your card/pass and go towards the rail line and direction you need. Lines are all color coded with good directional signage in Mandarin and English. Inside the cars shows direction and each stop, and announcements for each stop are made in Mandarin and English. When exiting the station at your destination, you will scan your pass again. If you bought a single journey ticket, it will be collected in a slot as you exit. Although you can get just about anywhere you need to go in Chengdu, including the airport, there are additional lines still under construction.Visited January 2018Traveled with familyWritten March 11, 2018

This is not an attraction, but it is an efficient and inexpensive way to get around town. It did not exist at all, for that matter the airport has been substantially upgraded since I was here 17 years ago. Buy a card and load it with yuan as needed fut 50 yuan will likely cover almost a week of travel.

I found myself on The Metro one afternoon. Thankfully there are directions in English. Best way to get around. Clean and quick.

When you go inside, ask the info person to give you the train number. The people were very helpful to foreign people.
Hope this helps

Bonjour,

Hi,
To get to Jinli, from the airport, take line 10 and transfer to line 3 and exit the stop at GaoShengQiao. From there, you'll have a good walk though. To get to Kuanzhai, exit People's Park on Line 2 exit D1. No, the metro doesn't run all night. It begins around 6am and closes around 11pm.
Have fun in Chengdu and don't forget to eat Hotpot!
