This is worth seeing as are the other two walls in Beijing. This one is very close to the centre of town and to the Garden Hotel. Nearby are various interesting gates, restored hutong alleys and some interesting shops and restaurants.

Served as a barrier for the mansion of the son of the first Ming emperor. It is larger than the two equivalents in Beijing.

This large tiles screen (it is the largest in China) represent nine dragons. It is colourfull and very complex. The dragons themselves are beautyfull and the masterpiece is well mantained. Definitely something to see.

Very beautiful but apart from its historical significance this isn't high on my must see list. The Chinese are very proud of this screen.

We visited as part of our tour but really only to fill in time. It had historical significance but I wouldn't rate it high on my must see things in Datong or China

Not that the tickets are expensive but you can actually see it from the door before you decide to buy a ticket to go in. It is nothing more than what you see on the photos and the photos are nicer sometimes.

Beautifully constructed, but also had to be reconstructed following local renovations. Look for where the error occurred on just a few tiles
