Qingdao Baihuayuan
------ Vanishing Cemetery
After the German occupation of Qingdao, the European Cemetery was built in 1901 and completed around 1904. The cemetery is located on the southeast slope of Qingdao Mountain. The main entrance is on Jingshan Road. Jingshan Road is also one of the earliest roads to enter the city planning. It is the main passageway connecting the cemetery of all nations in the urban area. Later, people called Qingdao Mountain as Jingshan. The cemetery covers an area of tens of thousands of square meters. At first, only Germans and aliens were buried here, so it was called the European Cemetery. The European Cemetery is directly supervised by the Governor’s Office of Jiao'ao, and the burial matters are all managed by the German Health Supervision Department. Now here is Baihuayuan, also called Sculpture Garden.
