I was told that I went at the right time as it was not flooded with tourist. The locals are enjoying the place by flying kites, naked swimming and playing volleyball. It is very cooling to walk along the sandy beach

Easy to access and find. Busy beach with many local Chinese. Bring your own umbrella for the beach as the asking price to rent is super high for foreigner.

I was in Shandong Province for 10 days, traveled from Qingdao to Jinan, Taian and Qufu and later returned to Qingdao again to take my flight back to Singapore. All in, I spent 5 days in Qingdao. Qingdao is one of the most European, greenest and cleanest cities of China. From my travel experience, I would divide the main attractions... More

We visited in Summer - the beach was crowded and the water was dirty. The best part is the walk along the promenade or riding the boats or jet skis -from 180RMB. Catching a taxi in this area is very difficult!

One of several long, clean sandy beaches in Qingdao. Great washroom facilities and a fun location to watch the wedding photography craziness.

Visited this beach as part of a long nice walk from Ba Da Guan scenic resort, through No.2 and No. 1 bathing beaches and Lu Xun Park, up to Zhan Qiao pier. Quite relaxing and enjoyable, also because not in the full season (otherwise I would imagine crowded all day).

It is a beach, No better, no worse than nos. 2 and 3, In the winter the beach and sea are clean and well maintained, but as the other reviews mentioned the best bit is the boardwalk that follows the coast so you can blow away the cobwebs and see the whole seashore.

The beach forms part of a lovely cove, with the aquarium and rockpooling rocks further around. there are rowing boats, speedboats and jetskis for hire, which helps to entertain and pass the time. Further up the beach, the sand is nice but down towards the shore, it is more like building rubble, with bits of brick, gravel and well-worn (thankfully)... More

Most of the comments have been spot on - it is nothing special. What is more special is the walk along the promenade by the sea from May 4th Square if you are fit and up for it. Warning - it is quite a long way.
