The zoo is nicely landscaped, and you can meet camels and yaks eye-to-eye. But it was admiring the playful performance of Le Shui, the eleven-year-old giant panda, that thrilled me.

it is a zoo,,, lots of monkeys and apes, and some other things,,, no giraffe, elephant, or zebra, but a lot of local type wildlife,,, as for conditions, its not bad, most of the animals seemed to not be stressed,,, and the care seemed good, food and cleanliness,,, being in china, they do a good job of protecting the animals from the typical idiot living here,,,
there is a wildlife park over in Huangdao though, that is very very nice... if you are here in Qingdao, the zoo here is okay, for a day trip if you have small kids, but if you have time, go to Huangdao!!!

If there was a minus star I'd give it a minus. If you like animals don't go there. Really small enclosures, too many animals in them, some look malnutritioned, and with body wounds. Petting zoo isn't petting at all, and thankfully so, as chinese shout at animals and would probably try to pull rabbits etc from each other. There two pandas and pace around very restlessly even though they should only be active in the morning.

let me start that the location is so far away from subway or bus station, which puts you to walk almost 30 minutes from nearest subway station. The ticket is cheap, you can pay cash or Alipay/wechat. However, animals look tired, hungry and dirty. there are not many animals at the zoo, you will only see different species of monkeys, panda, lions in a glass cage, deers, buffalo, birds. theres a kids play area with some simple activities and rides, kids can feed bunnies at a fee as well. I don't recommend to go there, its quite sad experience.
