We had an ok visit to the Golden Pebble Beach and some of the surrounding areas. We found the areas outside the main swimming area were not well maintained and had a fair amount of garbage. The main Beach area was clean but was very crowded. The sea looks nice and the water is a good temperature in July but bring sandals or water shoes as there are quite a few rocks and stones.

The closest metro station is Jinshitan - Golden Pebble Beach and it takes about an hour to get out here.

Jinshitan Beach has changed enormously and grown in popularity. For the past seven years, I had the pool on the beach to myself, pretty much. Now there are thousands of visitors on the beach. It's still not crowded. And it's still incredibly clean. Lots of attractions have been added: jetskis, paddleboards, swimming areas, boating areas, speed boats, cruise boats, etc. There are restaurants and snack bars right on the beach and across the road in a new mall, too. Millions have been invested in this seaside location and the money was not wasted. The development is creative and the result is dynamic. There are secluded beaches nearby, if that's what you're looking for. If you want to hit a big beach that has become trendy and popular, head for Dalian and then go to Jinshitan Beach. You're gonna love it!

Chilly in November, but still nice to walk on the beautiful, clean, long beach. Lots of entertainment facilities, cafes, restaurants and other eateries nearby.

The coastline is beautiful and reminiscent of Santa Barbara, California. The beach is long and wide and looks great. The Golden Bay Bridge is a very good-looking addition. The rock formation called "dinosaur drinking from the sea" is very impressive. The boardwalk linking outdoor sculptures is romantic. And the area is linked to KaiFaQu and Dalian by a train that is very inexpensive.

The Jinshitan Cultural Expo Centre, a short stroll from JinShiTan Station, is a huge, multi-million dollar, complex with a Wax Museum, the Museum of the Mysteries of life, Mystery of the Universe Museum, a Stone Culture Exposition, the Museum of Buttons, a trompe l'oeil art gallery, and a cultural exhibition centre that recently featured an impressive collection of paintings, ceramics, and brush art.

They call these places museums but that is not the right term. The wax museum has more than 300 wax figures from all over the planet. The Mysteries Of Life features in-depth inside looks at the bodies of people, animals around the world, and sea creatures. The Rock Museum is an elaborate and artistic archeology exhibit. The Museum of Buttons houses the world's largest colelction -- 200,000 -- Mao buttons, displayed in amazing ways. The art gallery has trick paintings set up so you can take amazing pictures that look fantastic on your computer screen. The Mysteries of the Universe is an enormous domed movie theatre showing space exploration. There is also an excellent gourmet food court.

In one day, I saw all six, over six hours, and got an entertaining education about people, animals, history, art, literature, the universe, and more, so I felt as though I had a deeper understanding of the meaning of life. Serious! And it was fun!

Jinshitan or The Golden pebble beach resort is a vast scenic area which has some thing of interest for all ages. The beaches for swimmers, the exhibition halls for explorers or history lovers, the trails for walkers, the rocky formations for photographers, the blessing letters etc for believers, the yatch rides for enthusiasts, the dolphin watches for nature lovers, and the many many disney places and corners and castles for children and many more.
In brief, this place is a photographers delight and a perfect place to spend one's holidays. It's EXCELLENT.

The summer of 2020 was good to Jinshitan, unlike a lot of the rest of the world, as Golden Pebble Beach came back better than ever. Last year Jinshitan added a Hilton Hotel that looks like a palace and this summer there's a new Hard Rock Hotel that's shaped like the waves of the Yellow Sea. Jinshitan's new Hard Rock Hotel is a stone's throw -- no, a pebble's throw -- from the Yellow Sea and a beach that stretches for miles and miles. There's an outdoor pool across the street and the Black Mountains, with a ridgetop hiking trail, are nearby, too. The Hard Rock Hotel has a bar with live entertainment nightly and a restaurant that must be the biggest one in Jinshitan. Roast duck is a specialty. This is my seventh summer on Jinshitan Beach, I'm happy to say, and each year it gets better, with a waterfront that's more organized and nearby attractions that get upgraded. By the beach there's everything from small barbecue or coconut vendors, not to mention seafood, up to the huge theme park called Discoveryland Kingdom. Jinshitan is hard rockin'!

Jinshitan or Golden Pebble Beach was great six years ago and it has gotten better every year. The latest addition is a Hilton Hotel on the hill and peninsula separating the two sections of this long beach. The hotel is not a tower, it's a sprawling palace that blends in beautifully with the landscape between the Yellow Sea and the Black Mountains. The beach gets better each year with separate areas organized for boating and swimming. There's a new speed boat around one area and pedal boats nearby. There are two KFCs on the beach, one McDonald's, and lots of xiao chi or Chinese street food, which is great. People like to take sea grass from the beach, dry it on the beach, roll it up, and take it home to eat for the rest of the week, for a reminder of Jinshitan Beach. At the north end, the beach ends with a boardwalk connecting it to the Geo Park. Dalian's coast is beautiful from the downtown area up to Jinshitan but Jinshitan beach is the best.

The biggest addition to Jinshitan Beach will be the new Hilton Hotel, now under construction, by the little island between the two big beaches in Jinshitan. There are lots of little additions, too, including life guard towers. In mid-April, work crews were already painting, planting, grooming the beaches and nearby bushes, getting ready for summer. I visited this beach many times last year and the year before and the year before that. Each year, Jinshitan's beach area becomes more and more beautiful.

Everybody knows Jinshitan has a great beach for the summertime but not everybody knows Jinshitan has a great festival of lights in the wintertime for Chinese New Year and Spring Festival. The light show is two blocks from the beach, near the train station, in front of the 6 museum complex. It was free last year, for the first year, but now there's a small entrance fee. It attracted big crowds last year. This year the street is blocked off, bus routes have changed, so visitors can walk in front of the complex and take pictures. If you go, be sure to take your camera! There are many artistic installations and they are all full of lights. The streets of Jinshitan are also lit up with red lanterns and smaller lights for miles in both directions. The centrepiece for 2019 is a replica of the Forbidden Palace and it's a beauty.

Most areas of the beach are covered with pebbles, not sand, so it's not a good idea to lie down. It's also too crowded to really enjoy.
