The Dalian Sightseeing Tower is under-rated. It gives you great views of downtown Dalian. It's easy to get to, a short taxi ride from the train station, and not so high that it's scary. The area around the tower has lots of trees and parks even though it's in the centre of the city.

Not really worth it

My oppinion about this place: Nice, but not really worth the money. The look u can get from on top of the Tower is not really amazing and u get also get a similar one from much other places. The drive in the cable car up the mountain from the workers park and the drive down can instead of the Tower be much fun.

More to be expected from a nice observation deck

My wife and I visited the Sightseeing Tower July 6th. After having visited N Seoul Tower in Seoul, KR. I was in much anticipation for the Dalian Sightseeing Tower because it is taller and I live in this city. The views in the evening are very beautiful with a 360-degree panorama of Dalian Peninsula. There are marquees to say which direction you are facing, and a daytime panoramic view that calls out the names.

The price was fairly steep at 50 yuan a person. We had anticipated eating in the revolving café at the top, but it closed early the day we arrived. Go around sunset. Eat before you go. There is also a nice trail from the road to the chairlift from Labor Park. It breaks off into two and the other trail leads to the road.

Take these things If you go:
- Good walking shoes. It is about 1.4 kilometer climb to the tower from the bus.
- Money to shop at the small gift/snack shop (about 200 yuan)

Dissapointment

Tell me, guys, who can close this watch tower during Golden week, when thousands of visitors are coming to town? So, we went there (by walking, fortunately it is pleasant walk, on the road but very few cars) and tower was closed.
