Its ok
Mar 2019
Its ok but nothing really out standing, the is a long zip line not far from there. Hot in summer and cold AND very windy from Sept onwards (wind as in the rubbish bins are sunk in the ground in Dalian) Try not to get blown in front of a bus!!

Popular Square

Best enjoyed in summer. Variety of Flowers planted throughout the year & open green space to relax. Access by bus is good.

Kinda Disappointing
Oct 2019
It's a big, mostly empty park. It looks like a football field with a few flowers here and there. There is a fountain, several actually, but none of them had water in them when we were there. Try labor square, there are lots of activities there.

Very nice square overall! The municipal government building is here located behind the central garden! In spring flowers blossom and it’s beautiful to see bees and dragonflies there flying. Winter though it’s barren but ok. It rained a lot in December.

Since it’s a square, you can expect to find old aunties dancing there in the evening mostly. Moreover, children also fly kites there with their parents! Great place to hang out

Vast green Square
Jun 2018 • Solo
I took the metro line 2 to Renmin Square station to explore this place. One will pass a small square first before reaching the spacious Square with much greenery.

Five Minutes
May 2018 • Solo
A big open space with a main road running through the middle of it. Nowhere to sit, not much to do. Some nice buildings in the distance. Just spend 5 minutes here and move on.

Lush Meadows & Gentle Doves
Apr 2018 • Friends
Formerly known as Stalin Square, People's Square was built to commemorate the liberation of northeastern China in 1945 by the Soviet Union's Red Army. Transformed by lush meadows and gentle doves, it has become a popular leisure destination for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy a relaxing walk and the plentiful people watching.

Large beautiful open space park and gardens
Oct 2017 • Couples
Certainly worth a visit. If you desire spacious open space then this is a great place to go and enjoy. Large areas of well-kept green grass (maybe keep off/ but no signs saying that), lovely flower gardens, nice collection of trees with internet identification, occasional fountain shows and surrounding classic government buildings. Great atmosphere and an oasis in Dalian's hustle and bustle. Clean as a whistle, maybe because there are no fool-sellers or cafes really close. Large enough to fly a kite too.

Worth a stroll through the Square especially at night
Aug 2017 • Friends
If you want to see that community is still alive in the Republic of China this is a great place to go at night. People are ballroom dancing and participating in Feng Shu. Some younger people are kicking right neon balls but all in all very interesting.
