Pleasant place to stroll or ride a bike

This review applies to the small port off the Navy district. It is SE of the cruise terminal. This is a small port with a number of sailboats. The surrounding area is comprised of luxury housing the vast majority of which is unoccupied, making it a bit of a ghost town but delightful for cycling on the wide traffic free boulevards.

Well built and impressive
Dec 2016 • Friends
Once again, China has built some impressive infrastructure. We drove just past the port into the harbour. It was huge and surprisingly not crowed. There was only one guy fishing (the first and only guy I've seen breaking the rules in China). If you stepped out of the sun, it was extremely cold in winter. Not a must see but a good place to get some exercise. This is also close to the exhibition centre.

Safe Harbour For Strolling

Dalian Port is impressive not only for its scale but for the fact that it is a safe place to walk around and check out the big boats. Dalian Port is a short walk from the second last train station in Dalian, not far from Metro and Ikea, and you could walk for hours to see the docks with the cruise ships and freighters heading into the Yellow Sea and the Pacific.

A multi-purpose port
Oct 2015 • Friends
It is the largest multi-purpose port in Northeast China. The ship containers get transferred to road transport to different cities in mainland China. This was our last port from cruising before we headed to Beijing. From the ship we saw the ship unload many trucks with loads of mail and parcels to Beijing Post Office. The port is very big and clean, no worry about crowds.
Happy Travelling!
