This is a pretty tourist street with a Russian flare. Many of the buildings are quite old and there is some Russian style street art, Russian snacks and Russian style souvenirs. We know some of the shops have authentic goods but we think some of the items are inexpensive and locally made like the 8 yuan Russian nesting dolls that seemed to be forever nesting!
I would say the nicest people I've met in Dalian are in this area. Many welcoming shop owners were very welcoming. The Maria Cafe has a gentleman who learned to roast coffee in Taiwan and has original equipment which he will show you, has a very nice cat and will let you play his 100 year old Russian piano! Please note that the large majority of the shops sell similar items and they will offer to pour you a cup of beer while strolling around!
The art museum is worth a quick stop, is free to enter and has clean bathrooms!
Plan to spend an hour or two here. The 201 tram stops nearby and the Dalian Railway Station are also close to here.

Though not very great This is small lane which displays & sells the russian articles & souvenirs. They sell russian styled chocolates , dolls , bracelet etc. the street is named so as dalian was formerly ruled for few years from 1898 to 1905 by Russians. Having visited dalian this is worth visiting once.

Went on 28 Nov and besides limited photo snaps, nothing much to be thrilled about.
At 2pm, only few shops were opened and majority were closed (maybe, should come in evening).
Shops selling similar stuff. Russian dolls (workmanship is so so). Russian chocolate at RM10 (not tasty, I feel). Dalian seafood stuff (not my kind).

My husband and I visited Russian Street during the Chinese Golden week. The stalls have many interesting items from Russian dolls to chocolate and warm clothing or various prices and quality. Some stalls are more pricy than others so do a walk through before buying. We found a delightful coffee shop called The Little Prince. Although it was not cheap it had a charm of its own and doubled up as a souvenir shop. These were reasonably priced. The art gallery at the beginning of the street is worth visiting as it is free and had an oil painting exhibition on while we were there. The painitngs were of moutain scenes around China.

The street is not very long, just a lot of shops selling souvenirs from Russia. Maybe it is nice just for a photoshoot of interesting buildings.

At some point, Russians had an influence in the city of Dalian. Now, apparently, all that's left is this street with a few signs in Russian and cheap souvenirs. Having been to Russia, you can find some things like authentic Russian chocolates but overall the quality of the stuff is pretty bad and virtually every vendor sells the same things. Am I glad I spent 30 minutes strolling down here? Yes. Would I do it again? Certainly not.

I stayed there for an hour to take a few photos of the Russian-style buildings and products. The goods around for purchase include amber, Russian lady dolls, Russian wooden doll sets, Russian chocolate tablets and other miscellaneous products which are generally not so special or attractive. Despite the name of the street, a few Russian-style buildings, Russian wooden doll sets and Russian chocolate tablets are probably the main items with some Russian characteristics. Many other goods sold in the street were cheap Chinese-made low-end products commonly found in China. The chocolate tablets cost RMB$10 each but I saw nobody buy any. The amber products are the most disgraceful items available in that at least most of them I saw were fakes. The Russian wooden doll sets are available in many of the shops in the street. I did ask most of such shops which dolls sets were Russia-made. A lady shopkeeper showed me a few relatively old leftover sets with fading of colours of the exteriormost dolls, a male shopkeeper from another shop showed me a few new sets with a handwritten English name at the bottom of the exteriormost dolls and the boss of the third shop said all the doll sets he had were Russian-made since timber for doll-making in China were too expensive! While I could not tell who was right and who was not, I asked my tour guide who took me to the largest shop in the street and showed me to a young man who was at the corner selling such dolls sets. They showed me a number of what they described as Russian-made dolls sets and described the differences between Chinese products and Russian products (which did not sound very clear to me anyway). I purchased one set of 7 dolls featuring a Russian-style orthodox church with only very little hand painting around the faces of the dolls for RMB180. This price is close to the price I paid for a smaller Russian wooden doll set of 4 with very similar look, wood quality, hand painting work, style and workmanship that I purchased in the Balkans 2 years ago. This doll sets is also very similar in look, wood quality, hand painting work, style and workmanship to the most expensive and typical doll sets sold in the Baltic states 4 years ago. I am still not sure if this set is really Russian-made even though I am very sure that as far as the Chinese-made dolls sets are concerned, this shop is more expensive than many shops in Dalian. There were fur-like headdress for sale in some shops and stalls, but all of them that I saw were not genuine leather products at all. If this is a street which really features Russian products, i suppose shops should be honest with origins of Russian wooden doll sets, which are the main items which as it were enables the street live up to its name, and leather hats from Russia should be available for purchase. Fake amber products also tend to make the street cheap and give the street a bad label.

Was informed it is a must to visit the Russian Street. Took the tram and stop at Shengli. Walked across Shengli Bridge and you will reach the beginning of the street. It is quite a disappointment, as I discovered it is just a short pedestrian street, flanked by some old Russian style buildings. Also flanking both sides of the street are peddlars selling various trinkets, russian dolls, russian made toys and binoculars, chocolates and cigarrettes. My advice? If you plan to buy any of those things, do bargain down to 50% or less. Aside from these souvenirs, the buildings are quite interesting and some are preserved beautifully.

Nothing to see, do or eat.. Lots of cheesy souvenir shops and some vaguely Russian architecture with a few signs in Russian.. And.. That's.. It..
