[China - Liaoning - Dalian] Donggang Venice Water City

📍Attraction address: Venice Water City in Donggang, Dalian. It is like a bright pearl inlaid by the sea. With unique charm, it is a must-visit place in Dalian.

🚗Transportation: If you choose to drive there by yourself, it is extremely convenient. There are a large number of parking spaces nearby, so there is no need to worry about parking. It is located next to the conference center. Note that it is a one-way entrance and exit. Pay attention to traffic signs when driving.

👍️Must-visit attractions:

- Donggang Musical Fountain: The musical fountain here is a major highlight. When the fountain dances with the rhythm of music, the water splashes are colorful under the illumination of lights, like a dream.
- Check in at the globe: The globe has a unique shape and is particularly eye-catching against the surrounding environment. It is a popular choice for tourists to take pictures.
- Dance with seagulls: There are very, very many seagulls here. They soar in the sky, sometimes diving into the sea and sometimes perching on the shore. You can prepare some snacks and experience the fun of interacting closely with seagulls.
- Small shops in Venice Water City: There are many exquisite small shops in the water city. In European-style buildings, there are all kinds of treasure stores. There are coffee shops filled with rich coffee aroma, allowing you to enjoy a moment of tranquility when tired; there are creative cultural and creative stores where you can find many unique souvenirs; and there are specialty stores where you can taste delicious sea urchin dumplings. Every bite is the taste of the sea. This is undoubtedly a holy place for literary and artistic youths to check in.

🎟️Ticket information: The good news is that it is open to tourists for free! However, it should be noted that if you want to experience the fun of taking a boat tour, there is a charge. But in the off-season, most of the boat operations are closed, which may be a pity.

💗Other tips: It takes about 1 - 2 hours to walk through the entire scenic area, which is very suitable for you to take a walk and take pictures. The scenic area is still relatively large, allowing you to fully enjoy the fun of playing. In the off-season, it is much quieter here, with fewer people than in the peak season. Some stores are also closed, but this quiet atmosphere also has a unique flavor and is very suitable for a leisurely stroll and visit. If you come in the peak season, it will be even more lively and full of vitality.

I did not see the music fountain but went to the square. The square has many European styles buildings and a canal that runs through the square.

Many of the buildings are still empty. Some of the buildings are occupied by restaurants, cafes and places selling souvenirs.

To get there, take line 2 and exit Donggang station, exit D. Turn right and walk till you see a junction, turn right again and walk straight all the way. You will see Victoria Mansion on your right. Continue walking straight and you will find the music museum building. The gondola ride and ticket office is on your right (you need to go downstairs/one level down). The ride cost 60 yuan and the ride is approx 15 - 20 mins.

This sort of Venice-copy is a nice place to see and walk through - although the place is a bit strange - most of the buildings seems to be empty with just couple of restaurants and shops in the central area.
It is still a nice place for a walk or for a gondola ride (60RMB/person) - you can see a lot of wedding couples having a photo shooting here. It is nice in the evenings with lot of the lights.

Take metro line 2 to Donggang station and then walk around 5-10 minutes towards the coastline to get to this place

We went to visit with little expectations. The musical fountain performance starts on hour I think last one at 8 pm ( which is the one we saw) .We are all adults and we all enjoyed it very much. A little amusement park for kids and adults. Great to walk along the water . Also a Venice type street, which offers rides , which we did not go.

Our friends brought us here. We didn't see the fountain display, but we did walk about the square. The European buildings are a bit unexpected! Still, it was a pleasant place for a walk, and there were kite flyers there too, which was fun to see.
