This park is a great place with lots of different activities for everyone. Many people come here to dance, horseback ride, rollerblade, go boating, or just take a walk or run. Come early in the morning and you will see Chinese morning park culture.

Nan Hu is a large park in the centre of Changchun, about 10 minutes walk from the Guilin lu shopping district. It's a nice escape from the noise and pollution and you can almost forget you are in an urban environment. The park contains a large lake where boats can be hired in the summer and a amusement park, with an area for paintball if you're into that sort of thing!
In the winter you can walk right over the frozen lake, or hire some skates and go ice-skating - just remember to wrap up it gets very exposed being on the lake in winter.
I wouldn't recommend cycling over the frozen lake as someof the locals do though!

South Lake Park or otherwise known as South Lake Park is a beautiful park in otherwise urban Changchun. It is the 2nd largest park in China, after the summer palace in Beijing. Hence, expectations are high with regards to its beauty befitting of its status. The area around the river does not disappoint. You will find ancient bridges and pavilions over the beautiful river. There is also a nationalist monument to commemorate the deaths during Japanese invasion of China. There are also evident range of activities by locals in the area and there is also a background music in the park. But the steps can be slippery during wet weathers especially the stairs due to the stone material of these ancient structures. So good shoes is a must. It is also good to avoid the peak traffic hours when you finish your visit (before 8.30am or after 4pm) as it is not easy to get a cab to leave the park. It is easier to get one to reach the park.
However, I was most disappoint with the increasing commercialism in the area that is out of place with the serene nature of the park. First, there is a theme park located at the corner of the park, with roller coasters and cheap imitations of characters of Shrek. It can get noisy and the roller coasters are out of place from an ancient park. You will also find river cruise service with a makeshift wooden hut registration building that falls out of place with the ancient stone surroundings. It reveals the sad truth about the tussle between commercialism and preserving the environment.

This park is really nice in the summer. You can picnic, ride horses, rent boats, or play in the grassy areas. You can also buy toys like balls and things to play with while you're there and there are vendors who sell all sorts of snacks too

Well, its a piece of a nature in the centre ogf Huge city. Overcrowded with many attractions and small shopes. The huge lake in the middle provide a possibility to rent a little boat to spent some time on the lake far from others.

Very beautiful and large complex park with plenty to see and to do. There is an amusement park within the complex. There are many lakes to fish, kiting festivals, dance performances and calligraphy lessons. Great for long Sunday walks. It’s beautiful nature will amuse you.
There is also a big shopping center with plenty of stores and restaurants nearby. The customer can find both traditional western chain restaurants like Pizza Hut and McDonald’s as well as traditional Chinese and Japanese ones. Worth visiting.

Nice place to walk, relax and connect to a little bit of nature. Thought there were Koi, but apparently they are on display (holding nets in the water) only at certain times of the year. Lovely cannas blooming and awesome Lotus still blooming. Very few insects, no animals, and hardly any birds anywhere! There is a nice bronze Crane sculpture.
