Changchun Film City is impressively located at the top of an attractive park drive. The first thing you notice before the film factory site is a gigantic white statue of Chairman Mao benignly waving down to you from above as you walk up the roadway. Inside the museum comprises a long hallway darkly lit to give relief to the exhibits on display. The film-related items included relics from CFC’s cinema making past - props largely military weapons and lots of old equipment, sound machines, old style cameras, film posters (war movies seem to have been the most popular genre) etc. Several rooms off the main hallway contained technical film equipment and seemed to be still operational with behind the screen tech staff working there when we visited. Another side room held a large screen projecting a 1930s British film on to a wall, and had pictures and bios of Chinese film-makers, dubbers etc who had been prominent at CFC studios during its halcyon days. To one side of the factory site there’s an interesting little square with patriotic military statutes of heroic figures and old battle-green painted artillery guns. Not sure where the glass-encased mounted tiger fits in?

This should be a theme park, instead it felt more like a museum to show how the movies being produced, it has many different sections to showcase special effects, sound production, 3D & 4D movies
As we went in the winter time, almost 1/3 of the park is not opened, due to the cold weather and maintenance purposes.
Nevertheless, this is the first film production site in China, has it historical values
Price in winter time is still pretty steep despite there is a discount

Went there after my wife and I had been told it was a good place to visit. I am not sure why but it seems all attractions and parks I visit in China are under renovation. I am sure this park looks lovely when the water features are all in operation but when we were there all there was were empty ponds full of pipes and builders materials. Even the attractions were poor and not worth the attendance fee. I will say that the live show with the stunt actors putting on a performance was a welcome relief amongst the disappointment of the rest.....wont go again or recommend to anyone

Went with my kids 10 and 2. While all attractions were open, the lines took on average a half an hour (perhaps my fault for going on Tuesday, which is half price day), and the attractions were a huge disappointment. Things like showing how green screen tech works, or watching 15 minutes of a straight to DVD cartoon. The grounds around the attractions are fairly nice and well-kept, but be prepared to dodge people (mostly young kids) riding rental scooters recklessly around the park. It baffles me that so many people make the trip out to this place to pay 240 yuan for a full price ticket, and that it's considered one of the top attractions in Changchun. I've lived in China and visited many theme parks in tier 2 cities, and this has so far been the only one that I would never consider visiting again unless a major update is made in their attractions. In fact, I was so disappointed that I was compelled to join Tripadvisor and recommend against it. Save your money, see an actual film, and take your kids to any old park!
