Interesting history
Jun 2017 • Solo
I enjoyed learning about the history of this fort and was inspired to learn more about the British occupation and battles.

Providing an idea of a Chinese Fort of the 19th century
Oct 2016 • Solo
In the Eastern area of Jiao Hill, in close distance from the temple your walking path will bring you to the remnants of a Chinese Fort of 19th Century. The most part of the fort is destroyed or/and covered by the vegetation but some parts are visible and you can walk through one of its yards. Two Chinese cannons from the British-Chinese war of 1842 can be seen also. There is some information (also in English) about the history of the fort and the heroic fight of its defenders for someone who would like to learn something more prior proceeding to Wanfo Pagoda.

Interesting place
Oct 2015 • Couples
The place is interesting because it seems to be original and authentic. It also has some history back to 1842.
