This is a modern Buddhist resort at Lingshan scenic spot in Wuxi. Can treat this as a meditation getaway or a retreat for inner peace of mind, sound so relaxing. Every night time there is a laser show for everyone to enjoy and the whole place is lighted up.

Not much reviews here but our Nexus Holidays Tour brought us here. With the very little amount of reviews here, I can see either no one is writing because they are selfish in keeping this place to themselves, or not many westerners visit to write home about. I enjoyed the serene, ZEN-like architecture and old styled streets that were created here in conjunction with the religious, Budda peace and harmony. This place has many Chinese tourists visit and today was no exception. The hotel lobby was packed with visitors trying to check in. How they designed LINGSHAN NIANHUAWAN resort was to re-create old streets and its architecture where there are small, tiny canals lined along either side of the streets, before the storefront of the buildings. Vendors selling food, drinks, souvenirs and other merchandise inside these very nice buildings, I can spend a few days here walking everyday. The signage is in Chinese, English, Japanese and Korean. The guests to this resort can stay here and their accommodations are spread out around the resort. They can opt for the electric extended golf carts to bring them and their luggage around. With water, hills, gardens and architecture combination, indeed this can be a great place for R&R. With it being so nice during the day with the hot sun, imagine early morning, dusk and night how even more beautiful it can be with the atmosphere. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to stay here and experience it but nevertheless, in the future when I am older.
Kind of reminds me of Jiufen in Taiwan, inspired the animated movie, Spirited Away. I took some pictures and detailed my review so future visitors can have more in depth look at this place.

This is a religious area but is equally attractive to the general tourist. At night, the whole and huge area is decorated with colorful lights that give it a mystic/ dreamy atmosphere. There is a regular light show by the lake, centering on Buddhism and the lotus flower. An unusual experience.

I came here in the evening and spent about two hours. I can therefore only speak for an experience in night time. Yes, the place is all lit up - colourful and pretty. The sky show by dromes is captivating too. The Main Street is lined up on both sides by sourveir shops and food venues. All very entertaining, but then how is the place different from an entertainment park. I was told this is not meant to be such and I should come back in day time and in less crowded days.

If you live in Shanghai, this could be a good long weekend destination. Book on the web site for the location and you can get into one of the many "bed and breakfast" like hotels. The hotels are small but the rooms are usually comfortable and large. The breakfast simple but OK. Then there are plenty of restaurants in the area so you will enjoy a nice set of meals.
Here you could enjoy some calm and peace especially if you come in November when there are much fewer tourists.
If you drive from Shanghai - there is a parking lot outside of the hotel and restaurant area.
