its just a small, well decorated and preserved garden. Found people inside drawing some traditional pictures. the fun but disturbed part was that we had some crazy photo sessions and the guard there was not happy with us.

Home of a poet who kept a tiger in this sprawling garden home.

The place is typical of Suzhou with a house that is decorated with calligraphy, and a garden with stone landscaping.

My personal opinion is that once you have seen one, you can give the rest a miss as they are very similar.

Much smaller than the Humble Administrator Garden but beautiful indeed. This was someones home who appreciated having garden areas outside each window and along the footpaths of his home. There is a nicely planted pond area around which the house is built. Worth seeing if you have time.

Architecturally and gardens set up in fung shue style. Beautiful and easy walking and strolling. Homes. Garden. Interior and Exterior design and function. Water gardens, trees, rocks and architecturally beautiful. Well worth the visit.

This location is a UNESCO world heritage site. It’s an awesome location to learn more about Chinese culture. The detail within the woodwork of the facility combined with the beautiful gardens make this a go to place when in China.

A personally wouldn't travel this far from Shanghai just to see the garden but combined with a visit to the Tongli water town we are glad we visited. Lots of nice photo opportunities, though it can get crowded.

Well worth a visit. Peaceful setting with ponds and extensive gardens. There were many art students sketching the scenery during our visit. Lots of paths and bridges to explore.

TripAdvisor is currently showing their April-October hours, but I showed up in the evening (lovely mild January day seeing other gardens, temperature almost hit 70 degrees F) to find the ticket office closed. According to posted info, it’s not open in the evenings (closes at 5:00 PM) and there are no evening performances in the off season. Check with your hotel or a tourist info center before making plans, especially if this location is out of your way!

This is one of the gardens that comprise the Suzhou UNESCO site of classical gardens. Typical Chinese garden layout. Unless you are really into Chinese gardens, I would recommend a visit to 1 or 2 of them, because many of the features repeat themselves anyway. I recommend this particular one because it was a nice manageable size for a comfortable walk and big enough to house all the quintessential architectural and landscape features.

We came here as a group of 6 adults, traveling for 2 hours on a minibus from Shanghai on a day trip with our guide Mei Li. Out of all places we visited that day this was the most beautiful. Peaceful gardens and lake, surrounded by various paths and small bridges. We had a nice walk around. There were some strange looking insects by the lake which bit me.
