A very enjoyable place to visit and a good place to contemplate The heat of August was oppressive and it would be better to visit at a more temperate time. The design of the garden is really beautiful and to me, unique.

A classical Suzhou garden to evoke the senses and relax in the heat. Loved the bonsai garden and creativity of the designers.

We visited this garden during our trip downtown Suzhou. It's not really big as it once had been family owned. A nice 1 hour stay

The Lingering Garden is very pretty, despite being crowded when we visited. Lots of little pathways, ponds with fish, etc. An enjoyable visit!

Visited more than 30 years ago with a very good impression. This July I visited this garden again, felt a bit disappointed. It's not well maintained for such a nice garden. Entrance fees are too high for the scale and condition.

Suzhou has so many gardens to visit and you need to make trade offs. Liu Lingering Garden is clearly a "must see". Located a bit outside of the old city center, it is worth to few kilometers. This place offers what you expect from a great Chinese garden - check it out!!!!!

This is another very nice Suzhou garden with many beautiful points of view. The flowers were very nice and the displays of older Chinese furniture are excellent.

I visited several of the gardens in Suzhou while I was visiting Shanghai. The Liu Lingering Garden was my favorite. I went on a Wednesday so I'm not sure if that's why it wasn't crowded but I practically had the place to myself! I found a great little nook in a rock structure and ended up reading for a few...
