Came only because it’s in the UNESCO Classical Gardens of Suzhou cluster. After you have visited the Humble Administrator’s Garden, this is no comparison. Just lots of bamboos & fake rocks. There’s some renovation going on; otherwise, not much to see despite its history.

This was a very pretty garden in Suzhou. It was not very crowded, thankfully, probably because it is slightly less well known than some others. However it is on the world heritage list, and it is one of Suzhou's most important garden. It is also...More

Garden is a lot smaller than the administrator garden, in my opinion this is the better one, there was less people in general which would mean less noise and more opportunity to take in the experience and relax, very easy to get to via subway....More

I foolishly followed Lonely Planet's advice that this was a top "must see" spot in Suzhou. Will I ever learn? It's certainly interesting and there's a massive, colonaded modern building slap in the centre that houses some minimal artworks, but over all, the pavilion and...More

The beauty of this garden is that it looks more natural than most garden in Suzhou & it was much less crowded on both my visits in 2010 & 2016. Visitors are first greeted by a huge pond at the entrance, beautiful view, wavy water,...More

The Garden is hidden between PanMen and Grden of the Master of the Nets. Don't miss it as it's apperently the oldest of the major surviving gardens. It's small and as it is not touristic, it's visited by the locals. The entrance fee is only...More

Nothing special. It's near the south campus of Soochow university. Frankly speaking I've never even been there for the purpose of sightseeing. Just crossed by hundreds of time. So, giving an average rating. Next to it, along the renmin road, you can find bars and...More

When feel tired, Canglang will be the best choice for getting away from the city crowd. It is regarded as the oldest garden among the existing classical gardens of Suzhou. Instead of noises in cities, it is pretty quite and peaceful there.

Despite located in central Suzhou, I enjoyed the peace and quiet strolling in the gardens. It's not as touristy as the other gardens but I quite like vibes here. I'd probably bring my own tea and books and spend an afternoon chilling next time.
