A Short Holiday
Nov 2019 • Couples
Great old water to spend a short trip for a short break from work.
At time of our visit, the place is not packed.
Nice slow walk and eat along the walk about was great and relaxing too.
Prices are reasonable and shop owners are pretty nice too.
Great place for a quick short recharging get away.

Traditional Life
Nov 2019
Our tour guide grew up in Luzhi Town and her 100 year old grandmother still lives there. The town was beautiful and the government protects the exterior of the buildings. Each front has an entrance originally to a garden that the residences have expanded their homes into. We actually were allowed to have lunch with a family. Nice experience and a rick shaw ride too.

A wonderful day
Oct 2019
During the week this is not crowded like some of the other watertowns (albeit with a few well-behaved school field trips). A quiet look at a quiet life. a definite daytrip to relax with..

Quiet town.

Luzhi is a very small ancient town that is quite close to Kunshan. When I departed from Shanghai,I took the metro and bus to Luzhi town. There is no entry fee when you just want to enter the town. But for the attractions in the town, you should pay for them. Not that expensive, around 50yuan per adult.I spent half day on visiting the attractions and found that was interesting.

You can find many types of food here. As usual be careful on your choices. People here are also very helpful in finding items.

Easiest Water Town to get to from Shanghai
Feb 2019 • Couples
If you are visiting Shanghai then you simply have to visit one of the many water towns. You will need to take the bullet train to Suzhou, which in itself is technically a water town but with a population of ten million it doesn't quite have that intimate feel ha! From Suzhou you need to take the bus to Luzhi for just 3 kuai....or you could take a taxi should you wish.
There are many water towns in and around the Shanghai province but this was the easiest and cheapest to get to...and judging by reviews and pictures I've seen, once you have seen one then the others aren't too dissimilar.
There are several winding streets here, but remember that this is actually a through road so be wary of crazed people in cars and on motorbikes. There are dozens and dozens of bridges here and most are perfect spots for photographs. There is a multitude of fast food stalls here and everyone we tried was great. The flatbread stall was so good I had to go back for a second one. Everything seems to cost 10 kuai too (just over a pound) so you can wander and snack for hours and it won't break the bank. I also tried a fancy tea here too...it was called pudding tea (or something like that)...now I'm not really sure why I tried it because I don't like tea...and it tasted very much of tea...and it was full of lumps of jelly or something. It was quite possibly the most disgusting thing I think I have ever had...that'll teach me
Really enjoyed this place (despite the lumpy tea) and you will fill your camera with so many great pictures...would highly recommend this place.

A boat tour and history
Nov 2018 • Couples
We certainly enjoyed the boat tour and the views of the old City. Outstanding and well worth the time spent. We also walked along some of the adjacent shopping streets and visited some of the small food stores.
