Beautiful canal and vital historical street with lots of small shops to explore. If you walk under the road bridge to the other side away from "the tourist area", you will find a local food market which is quite exotic.

Quiet high prices, but you can walk for hours there. People speak English in few stores, and if not there is always ways to get along. Few store that making hand crafts, with loud music, and hammer beets in the tempo. Nice

This is the most famous place in Suzhou, the view of the canal looks very traditional but the street is very touristy... with souvenir shops everywhere... it's nice to see at night.
