Probably the best way to experience Suzhou and its canals is via a boat ride. That, unfortunately, wasn’t part of our tour with Sinorama. But we did get to walk both banks of one canal – artisan studios and souvenir shops on one side, restaurants and cafes on the other. And we had time to explore the market that occupies... More

Yes I mean it. A beautiful and big lake. Many resources of the Suzhou depends on this lake as per our guide information. Passed by while in our way. Enjoyed few minutes only.

Suzhou. Beautiful little city built 2,500 years ago. Chinese call it Venice of the north. I took a boat ride through these little canals. Traditional Chinese architecture at its best. The famous gardens were a delight swell. This is how I imaged china to be and I wasnt disappointed. Don't forget you'r camera.

Since Suzhou had once been called the Venice of the East, we had to try to find out why. Admittedly, there is very little left of that era, but we managed to get a sampan ride through some of the small canal roads. It was an absolute delight to navigate those streets, under the old bridges, seeing some of the... More

Definitely worthwhile when visiting Suzhou but I found the canal tour to be too short and it only went through the wide part of the canal. Good views of the city wall but I expected to see the narrow canals.

It is a must!!1We took a ride on the canal on a dragon boat and it reminded us of Venice. Lots of beautiful colonial homes line the canals. The city itself is also calm after a busy tour in Shanghai.
