Enjoyed my hike over the hill at Dongshan with the Shanghai Outing Club. The walk through the fruit plantations was interesting and a wide variety of trees. We went up the path with 28 bends - it’s steepish, but not too bad. Worth the walk up. Then it was down the other side to Lu Xiang Cub. Easy hike for beginners and not too long. Views over Taihu Lake are great.

avoid the holidays period and this is the place to have a quite get away from the big city. Roads are much better and very nice Lake view car ride for a good 2 hours drive. Local food for lunch is a great way to enjoy fresh with very reasonable price. New 'Pond Cafe' just started and do have a good cup of strong coffee... Really surprise at the speed of development of this far back lazy town........
