Known as the three gorges waterfall. It’s about 20 mins walk in from the point where you got off the buggy. Be sure to walk through the back of the falls. Bring your own raincoat as the ones that were sold by the vendors are really thin and easily torn. I bought the raincoat and shoe guard from the vendors but still got wet as the quality of both the raincoat and shoe guard are bad.

Also heard that they are closing for upgrading works for a couple of months to upgrade this attraction to China’s AAAAA rated tourist attraction from its current AAAA rated.

Nice view and you get to walk under the fall

They recently renamed this Three Gorges Great Waterfall(三峡大瀑布). But the Chinese title "白果树瀑布" is still engraved on it, so it might get a little confusing. Also, it is linked with Cavemen Valley(野人湖). You can visit both if you have time. It will take up 2/3 of a day I think, since it took us nearly 2hours around the Waterfall path alone. And it's quite a long way drive. You can do either of these 3 together in a day since they are nearer.
1-Baiguoshu(白果树瀑布)
2-Cavemen Valley(野人湖)
3-Lover's Spring(情人湖)
4-Golden Lion Cave(金狮洞)
5-Sanyou Cave(三游洞)

We went during Autumn and the water doesn't gush as much as summer would have but it is still nice view. There will be some people trying to sell you cheap rain coats and shoe guards for a cheap price just outside the waterfall zone.

There is a short hanging bridge that only goes one-way. And after the waterfall, you can opt to walk up further via stairs to a hanging path along the mountain walls. We didn't have time since we were trying to rush for Jingzhou's Museum and we still had to visit Sanyou Cave before that. We couldn't make it to Jingzhou Museum in time though. Should have taken the time to finish this up along with Cavemen Valley instead.

It's not Niagara Falls but BaiGuoShu offers much better scenery

About an hour's drive outside of Yichang city center is the beautiful scenic area of The BaiGuoShu (also know as The Three Gorges Waterfalls). Part of a larger park, make this one of the sites to see while visiting Yichang. Most tour companies offer one to two trips there daily. I am not sure of public bus service there. There are many small food vendors and small tourist gift shops upon entering the actual park. For those pressed for time or physically unable, for an additional fee you can get a tram to drive you from the parking lot to the park entrance, otherwise a 4km hike in which will at times be uphill. The scenery to the smaller and main waterfall is quite beautiful, there are a few suspension bridges and observation sites as well. If you plan to go underneath the main waterfall be sure to bring a raincoat and something to keep your shoes dry as well, otherwise best to buy both from one of the sellers in the parking lot entrance 5 RMB for a disposable raincoat, 1 RMB for the shoe protection (basically plastic around your feet and legs). The price goes up to 10 RMB for a disposable raincoat or 20 RMB for a rental of a proper raincoat once inside the park itself. Make sure your tour gives you at least 3 hours to visit all of this site. My only disappointment was due to highway construction going on right now on the main way to the park is we lost out on enough time to truly see the site. We'll go back again perhaps on our own to fully appreciate this beautiful location and check out near by (4 km away) the Golden Lion Caves.

Amazing view

Known as "3 gorges waterfall" to the foreigners (non Chinese). So far I understood, it is also a part of "National Geography Park". The waterfall itself is great. The walkways along the park is awesome. We went in group operated by a tour operator. The ticket was included in the package. Apart from the beauty of the area we also enjoyed the food at the entrance of the park. Amazingly the cost is very very cheap. My son and wife enjoyed a lot.
