Informative tour. Gives one a better understanding of the meaning and purpose of the the Three Gorges Dam project, and from the viewing deck, one can realism and feel the magnitude of the project.
The Chinese are proud of “Yue The Great” who was probably China’s first hydro-engineer from more than 2000+ years ago.
What he began 2000+ years ago, is finally completed now by the ever industrious Chinese. Well done.

On one mainly sunny day, our tour bus dropped us off at the parking lot. Three sets of outdoor escalators brought us all the way up to visit this beautiful scenic site. Besides giving you a bird’s eye view of the dam from there, you also can spend at least an hour there to enjoy this beautiful park. There are many interesting points that draw your attention, “The Sculpted Relief Dominated Peak”, “The book of Tanziling Ridge”, water fountain, souvenir shops (we bought a book “The Panorama of The Three Gorges of The Yangtze River’). There are platforms to see the dam, from up high to close up. That was an enjoyable visit.
Happy Travelling!

After a quick lunch and a security check, our tour bus dropped us off at the Three Gorge Project model room. From there, we took an escalator to the platform which centrepiece is a fountain. There's also a granite cornerstone excavated from the riverbed of Sanxia dam. The super dam can also be viewed from the platform. It's a favourite place for photo taking.

This is the adjunct to the 3 Gorges dam and compliments it. Instead of this industrial monster being cut off from the people it serves, it is approachable through this resort. There are many plants set into the hillside and I noticed that most of the visitors were locals having time out to enjoy the facilities. I suppose it is just like an English attraction with a cafe and plenty of seats facing plenty of viewpoints.
Access to everywhere except the central platform is easy.
Worth a visit.

This park is reached by shuttle from the tourist reception. On arriving there are outdoor escalators that save the walk up to the platform. There are several viewing platforms with views of the dam, the lake and the shipping locks. On a clear day you can see the mountains surrounding the gorge. There are also these granite slabs of rock that had been taken from the Yangtze River bed during the construction of the dam. Good for posing besides. Can also walk right down to the lake front and get a closer look at the dam.
