If you are into temples... I really suggest you to come here. Almost no tourists, just monks and believers. If outside is traffic, sounds, crazy sh*T going on, then inside the monastery you would be in totaly other world. So peaceful, calm, beautiful. I suggest you to go there, just to feel the buddhist spirit.

The Temple can be easily accessed by Metro Line 2, station is Baotong Temple. Entry is 10 RMB per person. Temple has a calm and peaceful environment. One can take a tour of the main temple. Most attractive are the temple and tower located above, from where one can get a great view of the city. But in Wuhan summer one can easily sweat a lot while getting there.

It's so nice, I went on Thursday and there were no much people only few, it's not too big and is so nice, maybe you will only spend less than 2 hours. But there are no others touristic places near there anyway you will enjoy it, and it has a cos of 10 yuan per person.

Located at the foot of Hongshan mountain, a beautiful place to get lost. Portrays the beauty of nature and tells a lot about Chinese culture and history!

Beautiful layout on a hillside, wellpreserved relics and active monks. A haven of history and authenticity in a modern city pushing forward with high speed.

Not so crowded as the yellow crane tower, situated directly near a subway station. It is a real temple with real monks, not so much of a museum as others. You can spend some time there, relax, enjoy the quiet mood and climb up the pagoda - but only if your back is still flexible enough, the stairs are quite a challenge but the view from above is really nice.

A very calm, relaxing plus adventurous place. You cannot say that this is such a big temple from the outside looks. A few levels of mountain containing different buildings with numerous Buddha statues, art and sculpture. Still existing thousand-year old pagoda is a great experience. You can climb to the top within it. Wonderful experience!

The temple is just beautiful and you can walk around and see how old it really is. There are a few monks there but mostly it is for tourists

When I first entered BaoTong Temple, it opened up into a wide courtyard. Mostly it was a parking lot. I found the area and the whole temple nice and quiet. There were several buildings one could go to; to pray to the Buddha. Including one with wall to wall and to the ceiling of small Buddha statues. It was very calming and peaceful.
The pagoda at the top of the temple unfortunately I did not have a chance to see due to the time I had arrived. I had arrived in late afternoon. I plan on returning to this temple to see more of it.
