I suppose it depends on season. I went in Winter, and obviously no flowers were blooming. The place is divided into a few areas - I was at the Ting Tao area (I also went to the Mo Hill which I have done a separate review). There are many boats here that will take you out for a ride. You... More

Nature lovers will like the cool natural environment. Surely peaceful like an escape from the city. Would be better to visit in spring.

I walked around part of the lake whilst walking off a lunch at the nearby university. It was an easy walk although the path vanished in a few places. I went as far as a bridge where I was met by a little dog which insisted on walking over the bridge with me and all the way back again! As... More

East Lake Wuhan is a very large lake fed from the Yangzee river. It is sorrounded by many picturesque sites of parks and temples. Various lake cruises are offered which is the best way to see the lake.

The East Lake is one of my favorites and I have been there a few times. In spring the cherry blossoms are absolutely stunning and there are big crowds so one has to avoid the weekends. It is better to go there on a fine day with plenty of sunlight, for good photos of the flowers. To get a distant... More

This lake is so huge it seems endless. I came by taxi and then I walked a lot around the lake and took a speed boat to go to the other side with small temples. On the way back I found a very nice restaurant on water, very traditional and the food were excellent unfortunately I forgot the name of... More

The East Lake is and may just be the most under ratted place for Wuhan, yes its still under construction and remodeling but this was the spot where the "Party" and Mao had his yearly summery retreats at. Go and find "Jia Suo" the actual meeting place and hotel they stayed at where you will find historical photos and one... More

We visited many tourist spots around the east lake. We took tourist boat to go around the important landmarks, which I think was not a great idea. The boats are quite ok, need to wait long, and view is not so great. But in general, the east lake has lot of various scenic spots some of which are very beautiful..

This East lake is the biggest one in Wuhan. It's beautiful at sunrise and sunset. Also have some activities there.
