Was there recently, around 19:30, when the sun went down, that's when I was at the lake in Wuhan! Such a wonderful view of the sun! You can see the little island distance away from the lake! Many fishermen are there fishing then some lovers are taking promenade, as usual, a good idea to do.

It's one of my favorite must do in evening as I m busy with work during day. I enjoyed and would never stop the joining the beautifully decorated boat rides at night. The local food stalls are amazing with varieties of delicacies and you won't realize you are actually full. Chilled beer in hand and enjoying the ride is all... More

The landscaping is very nice and there are lots of shaded walking paths, and even some boat rides that will take you out on the lake. You can and should negotiate the price and distance of the boat ride as you can get a better deal than the "listed price". It was a very nice way to spend an afternoon.... More

I suppose it depends on season. I went in Winter, and obviously no flowers were blooming. The place is divided into a few areas - I was at the Ting Tao area (I also went to the Mo Hill which I have done a separate review). There are many boats here that will take you out for a ride. You... More

Chance upon a the chrysanthemum festival at the lake. Different species of chrysanthemums in all hues and sizes ( most in full bloom) lined the path to the lake. This season of cool weather make this a great morning stroll by the lake.

Nature lovers will like the cool natural environment. Surely peaceful like an escape from the city. Would be better to visit in spring.

I walked around part of the lake whilst walking off a lunch at the nearby university. It was an easy walk although the path vanished in a few places. I went as far as a bridge where I was met by a little dog which insisted on walking over the bridge with me and all the way back again! As... More

East Lake Wuhan is a very large lake fed from the Yangzee river. It is sorrounded by many picturesque sites of parks and temples. Various lake cruises are offered which is the best way to see the lake.

The East Lake is one of my favorites and I have been there a few times. In spring the cherry blossoms are absolutely stunning and there are big crowds so one has to avoid the weekends. It is better to go there on a fine day with plenty of sunlight, for good photos of the flowers. To get a distant... More

This lake is so huge it seems endless. I came by taxi and then I walked a lot around the lake and took a speed boat to go to the other side with small temples. On the way back I found a very nice restaurant on water, very traditional and the food were excellent unfortunately I forgot the name of... More
