Nice and Calm

Very good place to take a walk. The park is huge. You can ride a bicycle or walk. We visited the place in the winter so with the low temperature is not so good. During the spring/summer you can do some activities.

best place to go riding in the city
Sep 2016 • Solo
I used to go riding in here at dawn. You need to buy a season pass (was 80 元) last time i bought one, but there are plenty of traffic free roads to rides and lots of climbs, Possibly the only tranquil place anywhere in the city

Mo Hill is situated next to Wuhan East Lake.We took a subway train from Wangjiadun Metro Station to Mo Hill takes about 1 1/2hrs cost RMB4.But when you reach "Guong Fu Dun Station", you have to change a public bus no.401 route to arrive Mo Hill Bus Stop.Bus fare only cost you RMB2.

Ongoing works
Nov 2016 • Solo
Like many other places in Wuhan, this place has intensive works going on. I came over via a boat from the Ting Tao Scenic Area so I didn't know until I reached the shore. The North Gate is not accessible, and the South Gate is also in a mess. Worse is they don't say anything. I can read Chinese and I did not see any warnings or notifications of facilities not functioning. The Chu Culture Area is inaccessible, and the lift chairs up the hill is also not functioning. There's a bit of a mixed feelings here as up the hill, at the Chutian Platform, I happened to arrive when a musical performance was about to start. It was a good performance with the Bian Zhong (the bell set duplicated after the Marquis Zeng set). So it wasn't too bad but I would avoid this place for the next few months (security guard said 8 months more).

Excellent picnic spot
Oct 2016 • Family
When my friend mentioned that we would go to some hill, we didnt have much expectations. This place is fabulous, very well maintained, having colorful trees and plants.

We took the battery car to reach the top of the hill & then got down at the stop where we thought was the starting point for cable car ride. But instead it was some place of temple, but had great scenic surroundings. We had a short uphill walk (stairs) for the praying area, it was quite nice. Later we moved to the cable car ride, and found another interesting ride, which was the sliding car, this i must say was one of the best rides i have taken, kind of a free fall on a sliding surface, sitting on a small platform like thing. After this we did take the cable car, it was an open bench like thing. For a person who has fear of height, this was quite challenging.

After this we walked around the scenic spot, has a nice play area for kids. found a nice house (perhaps in japanese style) which instantly made me feel, wow this is what my dream retirement house looks like :-) It was already late, so we couldnt get any more battery cars, so we had to walk back, which was still ok. Overall, it was a great place where we enjoyed every bit. This is a must visit if you are in Wuhan & you like nature!

My friend told me that in April/May the place would be much more colorful, so that would be the best time to visit.

A good but short visit on a sunny day for cherry blossoms
Mar 2016 • Solo
I was part of a foreign tour group who believed this place would offer an internationally acclaimed and spectacular site for viewing of cherry blossoms around late March this year. We were a little let down as the cherry trees were not packed enough along the lake side and the bridge where cherry blossom photography was best. Though the parts of the sakura garden in Mo Shan of East Lake were more packed with cherry trees but did not have a lakeside and a wide open blue sky which would make cherry blossoms more photogenic, the individual Japanese cherry blossoms were in very good shape and use of good camera woudl ensure top quality close-up flower shots. This sakura garden was a much more superior site for viewing and taking photos of cherry blossoms than Mulan Qingliang Village where only very the sparsely located Chinese cherry trees were found on the next day of my Wuhan trip. My visit to this sakura garden proved a much better experience with relatively better matching between what was expected and what were heard beforehand, what could have caused less spectacular cherry blossom sightings and what I actually saw. There were a few ladies who were getting photographers' attention prolongedly on my day of visit. Some of them were in Japanese national dress and carrying a traditional Japanese umbrella so as to make the photos more professional in theme and richer in composition and colours.

Great park , especially if it was free!
Jan 2016 • Friends
Great walk about - try to avoid crowds. The hike around the park and to the top of the hill - up to the tower - offers nice views of the lake and the city. It's leafy and green, with some bits of culture, sculpture and a small museum dedicated to Chu culture up in the tower.

The price (45 RMB in 2016) is I think a bit too much, after all - it's just a park and without monkeys, animals or any other benefits, and although I do support contributing some money to supporting the national parks - this is a bit too much.

When it comes to city parks - this one is one the best I have so far seen in China, although Chengdu offers some nice city parks as well.

I have a year pass...
Mar 2015 • Friends
Beautiful, lovely, mountain park. I go there 20 times a year. There are always different parts to see or old favorite places to visit again. There's a tram car that I have yet to use and shuttles that can take you to different parts of the park. Lake side grassy areas and mountain top pagodas that look out over the city can all be had. Currently flowers are everywhere. Don't miss it.

City Getaway
Jan 2015 • Solo
This place was such a great place to be to get away from the excitement of the city. There is so much to see and enjoy, from temples to lakes, and a lot of walking to be done. You can take well maintained stairs of the paved roads to get around the area. There is a haze around the area, but when you're walking Mo Hill you don't notice the haze. A great place to relax and get away from it all.
