The beach here is nice but since we stayed at a resort near by, we are spoiled by the private beach at the hotel. I took my boys here to see the seashells and they loved it. The entrance for the square is 50 rmb per adult and free for children under 1.3 m. The seashell museum is free after paying the entrance at the gate. There is a gift shop at the end of the museum where my boys bought a big shell each as a souvenir. It is more expensive than the market right next to the beach but there is more selection at the gift shop.

We were here in the evening and there was a lot of people having dinner and enjoying their evenings here. It's especially nice for families with kids as there is a lot of kid's activities, including games and moving robots you can ride. There is some street food including real coconuts, boba, ice cream, and more restaurants all around. There's a stage in the center and some live music and dance performance. The front row seats require paying for an overpriced restaurant, but you can just watch from the second floor. There's also a small-medium sized grocery store upstairs.

Like everything else in Yalong Bay, it is overpriced for China but it's at bargain price compared with other tropical destinations like Hawaii. Besides your hotel/resort, this is probably the best nearby place to go and you're not obligated to buy anything. It's easy to find a taxi here too.

The Good:
The hotel is located close to the beach
The beach is clean and nice.
The lobby is nice.
The Bad:
The resort was very bad. The room was uncomfortable with no place to sit but one chair that was always reclined. The balcony chairs were small wooden and very uncomfortable. The food was cold and never changed, always the same. The air conditioner was not adjustable, just a fan. the first room we had didn't have a balcony and had a construction site view. There was mold or somthing black growing in the tile grout. There were charges for just about everything. I can go on and on.

A quick half hour tour would suffice. The shell fish museum isn't that spectacular.

I don't even understand why this is even listed here - it's just a couple of average restaurants in a tacky setting not "something to do", also has a supermarket

This is one of the alternative places that offer a wide variety of Chinese and some western foods. Moderate priced, a lot of Chinese cuisines and mostly seafood. They have a Pizza Hut for all those die-hard fans of this traditional western fast food chain.

Its a good sized mall for a small area with several decent restaurants and several small independent shops. There are lots of very cute rides that will delight kids under 8 years old. We enjoyed the ambiance and the unpretentious nature of the place.

When you are in northern China in the middle of winter or the rain it is memories of this beautiful place that get you through those times. I cannot recommend this place enough.
