I wish I would be able split out the activities at Fenjiezhou Island as some parts absolutely deserve.

1. Submarine ticket - do not purchase, absolutely a waste of money. Can not see anything.
2. Feeding of the Whale Sharks, great experience. Would recommend.
3. Feeding of the dolphins....absolutely, very hands on.
4. Beach was clean for swimming.
5. Food was fine. Nothing to right home about, typical tourist food.
6. Staff was very nice and helpful.
7. I believe it was worth my time and yours, just skip the sub ride.

Fenjiezhou is far from the city center(70~80mins)
Take a ferry for a 10 min, and you will find a beautiful island.
But the prices are little bit over-priced.
If you just want to experience how they enjoy their vacation, it would be so interesting experience.
Generally I'm really satisfied with this trip, but If I go back to Sanya, I wouldn't visit here again.
If you want to take some water-sports or swimming in the sea, find other places. But if you just want to looking around, go there.

It is a beautiful island for sure, but perhaps I expected too much. It is not dramatically different from the more famous Wuzhizhou island, but not much less crowded. If you don't have a car, just save yourself some trouble and go to the more convenient Wuzhizhou island.

NIce looking island, not great diving, unless you are with China DIve, they can take you to some wrecks which are cool. But the worst part is there are two 4-5 meter long whale sharks in a tiny pen. Swimming around and around. Very sad to see. Did not enjoy that. Everything is also over priced.

The very worst of China, exploiting the masses with no care for quality of service, crowded conditions, murky water and high prices. I understand that most Chinese expect this type of service but really it was the worst diving ever. We paid for a boat dive and ended up doing a beach entry, visibility was 2 meters at best, everything was covered in fine silt resulting in very little sea life and colourless evironment. dive master was very nice guy but totally controlled by money grabbing bosses. The whole 'diving" experience is a money making venture with no thought of needing customers to return, there are millions of tourists willing to try one time and they are also willing to pay to experience what they thing is diving.

150 rbm entrance fee ... Big territory
Water visibility 2-5 m
1 whale shark 3-4 m are present on closed territory$130 20 minute dive with whaleshark
Personal did not speak English
You can swim only on small piece of not clear water... All good place forbidden for snorkeling and swimming and guardsman push on me return from water to beach
Diving starting from $50 for 30 minutes and in group 10-15 divers no enlist speaking dive master or any other personal
Diving oriented on china no experience divers
That place is wasting time and money

Well it certainly is a beautiful island. Since my girlfriend has never done things like the OVERPRICED activities they offer, we tried the parachuting thing and what they call deep sea "scuba diving". I think we payed 1400rmb as a couple.

The parachuting was about what I expected, it was fine. Nothing crazy.

The scuba diving was terrible. They give you a brief "lesson" then corral you out to a floating dock where you are put into water with a "coach". The coach then drags you along the water to look at some fish. After a while he brings you in the "deep sea" which is about 15 feet under the sea to a dying reef. The absolute worst part was they make you pose for photos by the reef and the "coach" basically pushes you on the reef which is obviously horrible for the reef. I guarantee you there will be no reef in 5 - 10 years. There's some beautiful things there for sure but like a lot of things people are going to destroy this place.

I would have rather just went to this island to hang out on the beach, climb to the top of the hills and shoot some photos or video. I dared not do the swimming with whale sharks as I doubt that would be anything but animal cruelty.

The island itself has nothing special but very good place for diving as a beginner in the area. A wreckage boat is underwater and few fishes can be seen. The Padi shop have professional staff and their equipements are all brand new and reliable.

A clear green and blue water with very large species of fish, you can get here from a ferry. I did my diving here its very very good .. you can see many fishes as the water is very clear. The trainer that trained me was very professional i loved it. I suggest everyone to visit this place.. It has a great view of sea as well although little far from city..
