It wasn’t holiday season and there were literally no tourists there like a lot of attractions in China where you can’t even enjoy the thing due crowded and loud locals. It was so soothing to hear those old handmade music instruments producing the perfect melodies in the background all the time making you feel you are not in today’s world. A Full of culture peaceful and lovely place. Totally recommended if you are interested in culture, articrafts or nature. Ps: keep mosquito repellent with ya the place has trees and water bodies in abundance.

Travels in China

Even at my age it was exciting to visit so many places here in China that I have read about for so many years. I really enjoyed myself in these travels.

We went there by ourself! The way to this village was more exiting than the village.😄
The entrance fee was 35RMB with Chinese University student card (60RMB without discount).
There is interesting represent of Li community. Dancing performance, museum, and a lot of shops.
Nice place to visit.

Not impressed
Well first there is nothing in English which can help a foreigner to understand and appreciate the local culture. The few information available are in chinglish. The show it does not even by far represent the traditional dance of the local ethnic groups. And this was told to me by my local guide from Miao people. It is just a show put up for tourists. The performers are even paid very low wage and most of the profit does go to preservation of costumes and traditions. It is like the aboriginal villages in Australia or the Indian camps in US. Hardly original.

This place was great to see and found out a little bit more about how they used to live their island life.

They have dance performances showing the history and culture of the island and tons of island animals for you to cuddle for a bit for a low low price.

You leave this place with that "this isn't China" feeling,
