This part of Shenzen is dedicated to arts and artist/design-related startups and firms. It is located in a quarter, that had been used industrially and the buildings have been (and still are) adapted to lofts and exhibition spaces.
There are many nice restaurants, exhibitions, art&crafts shops and cafés (which is essential, because good coffee - Italian style - is rare in China).
It is like coming to another world inmidst the busy Shenzen scene. Very chic and "European". Whenever the crowded, narrow streets in the "urban villages" make you crazy you can find some relax and "western" artistic attitude here. This is kind of an intriguing choreography (remember! you are in the Special Economy Area), but it is _NOT_ the real China.

We went here around noon on a Sunday and were disappointed that many of the vendor booths weren't open and some of the shops were closed. After reading reviews it might be better to go here later in the afternoon. We still enjoyed our stay and popped into a cafe for an ice cream milk tea to cool down. Please note that the OCT loft is north of the Qiaocheng East Metro station and the OCT harbour is south. This area is much quieter than the harbour in the early afternoon.

A hipster's paradise. Art meets nature meets food meets young money. OCT has a relaxed and unique vibe, especially for the fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere of Shenzhen. Lots of cafes, art dealers, and exhibits.

It's a bit of a disappointment to be honest. It is hyped as a creative city hub, but it doesn't live up to the hype. It can get eerily quiet during the weekend evenings, which is quite odd. There are a few quirky coffee shops, bars and restaurants, but compared to other cities, it's a bit of a let down.

OCT Loft area is a very cool, unique hip area with awesome atmosphere. OCT [Overseas Chinese Town] Loft Creative Culture Park, located in the Nanshan District of Shenzhen, is a very cool area. The area is an area with many great galleries, cafés, restaurants, and lots of things to do.

Ok, it may not be the most original concept but this area is still enjoyable to visit as it has some great art spaces to view work and lots of boutique-type shops and places to eat and drink. I think it’s now leaning a bit too much towards the latter but still very much worth seeing.

i love this area of shenzhen. they are old factory buildings converted into hip galleries, coffee shops, boutiques and i think this is an area worth enjoying for some hours, far more authentic than the commercialism of malls.

Lots of art to see here, also good cafes, restaurants, shops. Several large art galleries with free showings. Remember: most galleries closed on Mondays. OCT is on Line 1. Get off at the Qiao Cheng Dong Subway Station, exit A. From there it's about a 10-minute walk. Also nearby is Splendid China Park.
