A Wonderful Temple and Gardens
Aug 2020
Wonderful place to visit. The gardens are very well maintained and offer a lovely environment for taking a stroll. The temple within the grounds is quite a trek from the main gate, but worth the walk. The staff at the temple are very welcoming and offered us some free food.

Beautiful working temple
Oct 2019
When you visit Dapeng for the city and fortress this is your next stop especially as its only 10 minutes away.
Consider it is a working temple and respect those in there, no photos of the Buddhas or people praying, there is much more to see anyway. The architecture is so colourful and ornate, dont forget when walking around to look up, the ceilings are great too.
When you walk through the main doors you are hit with a superb panoramic image and from there you just walk around and up and up and up. Take the steps up the hill and get a great view of Dapeng, provided of course 400 ish steps is ok for you.
You wont stay here all day, couple of hours at most and they will be well spent.
No charge for entrance although they do have a shop or take donations if you want to give.

A must near Shenzhen
Oct 2018 • Solo
If you have the chance to take a day trip from Shenzhen, Dapeng in a must. Even if some tourist only visit the "fortress" or old village, this temple is one of the best I have ever visited in either China or Japan. Don't miss your chance to visit it: it's colourful and there's almost no western visitors, which makes it more authentic.

Be sure to visit the Dongshan Temple, before you explore the Dapeng Fortress township.
The experience is breathtaking!
Like so many religious monuments around the world, this too has an atmosphere and an ambiance, which is totally unique, so you find yourself exploring and investigating every aspect. It is truly magnificent!

Beautiful temple
Sep 2017 • Solo
I visited the Dapeng Temple after touring the Ancient Walled City. This is just a short walk up the road from the walled city. I spent approximately 1 hour. This Buddhist temple appears to be newly rebuilt, with impressive statues and painted walls. The attention to detail by the artisans is phenomenal. Photography is very limited here, so just enjoy the view for yourself. This is a quiet and peaceful place that is well worth visiting.

Architecturally magnificent.

Of all the East Asian temples I have seen in various countries, this is one of the (or just THE) most striking I have had the pleasure of visiting. It's obviously very new but that takes nothing away from the beautiful statues, carvings (especially on the roof) and art work. And the buildings and courtyards themselves? Just stunning, as if from a legend or myth. I could have spent many more hours here than I did as I was utterly spellbound!

Situated south of Mount Longtuo to the east of Dapeng Fortress. This is well worth a visit for it's stunning architecture and artwork. Rebuilt and reopened in 2012, the attention to detail is stunning. Well worth a visit and close by to the Dapeng Fortress.
