End of October Afternoon Trip

A nice place in my opinion. Peaceful, bring some water or buy at the little stall at foot of the stairs. It will take between 10 to 20 minutes to walk up depending on your ability, there are some seats at intervals on the way so you can rest. Take an sun umbrella if you don’t want the sun beating on you. Some say nothing special about this temple but for me it’s very nice indeed. Also a working temple so if you are lucky you’ll get to see the Monks doing their thing! Nice drive up and then drive back down to Da Mei Xia and visit the outlets shopping area! 😊🙏🏻😊 Enjoy!

Break from the hustle of Shenzhen

The Dahuaxin Temple is a working Buddhist site with a large number of monks, masters and students.
We attended in the early morning, hiking from Interlaken Resort to catch the sun's rays on the golden Buddhas atop the mountain.
The sight is spectacular!
There is a quiet reverence over the whole site and when tourists start to arrive, the sacred feeling is contagious and even noisy children become calm.
There is not a lot of parking and it is certainly a busy place after 10am
We were invited to have a vegetarian breakfast with the monks and students although this may not be the norm.
The visit does require some fitness level to ascend the stairs to the golden Buddhas and is worth it.
It is not a tourist trap but it is supported by souvenir sales
