We spent ages trying to work out how to visit this street. There isn’t much about it on the internet. We followed the signs to the street from the bus in Yantian District, thinking we would be able to work out what we needed to do once we got there. We were told very nicely but firmly ‘no foreigners allowed in’ . We managed to establish (thanks to WeChat translate) that first generation Chinese people can apply once a week for a permit. People with residency in China (and Chinese heritage) can apply monthly. There is absolutely no access from the Hong Kong side and absolutely no foreigners. So, I can’t offer a review other than to say don’t bother wasting time on it. If by some chance you do manage to work out how to access it as a U.K. national the please do let me know what it is like and whether it is worth it! …

Its meaningful, the old tree is still green and shadowing for the tired street walkers and shoppers, the concret post has some sort of development; a tiny square of fencing built trying to protect from the souvenia collectors and vandals, the shops are the same, may be a few changes, the Sun Lau Street is still as quiet as before, with just about one tenth open... Well, it could be not very long to wait, and every thing change, which I am not surprice if one 3bed room flat's asking price 10 milliom dollars. ( Mrs Wongs 3bed in Dansui Village is now, on the paper, asking for that price todate)…
