One can easily come every few years and when special exhibitions of interest take place. We enjoyed our 90 minutes admiring the Nang great works of art, many relating to Shenzhen, its people, local artists, and its development. The museum is also known as the Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

*** The Guan Shanuye Art Museum is within walking distance from the Children's Palace metro station. The entrance is free. There are no food / drink facilities within a 10-minute-walk radius.
There are exhibition rooms throughout the 3 floors; the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions, the remaining two to Guan Shanuye's collection of work and life.
Apart from a poster announcing an upcoming lecture on modern architecture, none of the exhibition materials had any English translation. As interesting as it was to see modern subjects and contents painted in traditional Chinese techniques at the exhibition on display in the first floor, it was frustrating not to have any materials to better understand the displayed works.
The museum was fairly full, also with some families around - a fact which, on a hot Saturday afternoon, makes me believe that this museum is quite popular in town.
You can easily spend 2 hours visiting Guan Shanuye Art Museum. If you speak Chinese, this may very well be a fantastic museum. If you don't, be sure to do your homework beforehand: check their website on http://www.gsyart.com/index.php, find the current exhibitions and translate whatever information they may have available.

I like this as it frequently changes its exhibitions and works. 3 floors with exhibitions on each. Clean and cool. Wifi.

When I visited this only 1 room was open due to refurbishment. Very easy to get to close to childrens palace station or has its own bus station. Very clean and helpful staff but I was disapointed

I would like to ask if the Guanshanyue Gallery can provide an English translation in order for foreign nationals to make enquiries and plans.
