I'm sorry to say but China in general isn't the best country for wild life. They cherish the Giant Panda but other animals is less well treated. Fairly small enclosures and animals that look very sad. I don't really recommend the experience

It's nothing compare to Thailand and Africa, is ok for China and Hong Kong residents. Buy cheap tickets from hokou or Groupon. We went by taxi from border. It takes around half hour to reach, better to take metro if you have time. Most animals...More

While not a comprehensive zoo, there is a large group of big cats and bears. Siberian and Chinese tigers, lions, white tigers, tigons and ligers. There's a nice horse show with daring stunts. And a water show with seals, dolphins and swimmers. Lunch for two...More

Fabulous day out, take the extra ride to feed the lions its worth it. Saw the pandas didn't like the fact that they still had performing bears in the circus.
