Just a big photo

It's a good historical site for China fans, such as myself, but probably not worth going out of your way to find it. It's just a giant photo of "the man". It was just around the... read more

This portrait marks the important turning point for the reformation and modernisation in Chinese HIstory! Grandpa Deng certainly approved market economy and revived Chinese economy and as a person overall! Certainly one of the award-winning portraits!

Deng Xiaping was a great man. He moved the Chinese nation away from the Progressive social leanings of Mr. Mao towards a much more Conservative business-oriented direction. He is single highhandedly responsible for making China the economic powerhouse that it is today. That being said, all this place is is just a big billboard. That's it. However, near by are... More

It's a good historical site for China fans, such as myself, but probably not worth going out of your way to find it. It's just a giant photo of "the man". It was just around the corner from my hotel so I went down and took some photos. Not much else in the area to visit, but is a really... More

He is the man, who changed China from the poorest country to the richest and advance country in the world. He laid the foundation of modern China. Great leader

He is considered a great man in shenzhen so it's worth a look and a photograph. Very close to grand theater station. Behind the portrait is lychee park. Combine both for a good day

As you see it in the photo here... It is a large image of Deng Xiao Ping... If you are familiar with history you know the good and bad about the man... In this case his claim to fame is the founding of Shenzhen. For me what's behind the photo is more interesting... Go directly behind the billboard and you... More

If you are in Shenzhen and you are a China fan, and especially if you are a Deng Xiao Ping fan, you owe it to yourself to see this famous image. The giant billboard portrait celebrates the man who is most responsible for your being in Shenzhen in the first place. He "opened up" the freedom you have to travel... More

If you go to Kingkey 100, you may as well have a look and take a photo of the man responsible for the phenomenon that is Shenzhen.

I was especially enthusiastic to see this, because it has been written that this individual man, Deng, lifted more of humanity from poverty than anyone else in history. His decision to open up to some capitalism and markets was the key. The location is pleasant and on a nice day, many couples are there with their child.
