Enjoying a spring day at the beach
Apr 2021
Subtropical climate in this area. The temperature is fairly constant with daily highs in the 21C to 23C range throughout the year. Nice coastal beach, but the water is too chilly for me.

Visiting the crystal clear sea water
Nov 2020
No longer swimming weather, but still nice to walk the non-crowded beach, collect various seashells, and enjoy the breeze coming off the sea.

Beautiful Bay
Aug 2019 • Family
The Daya Bay essentially opens to the South China Sea. The bay is really nice and the beach is quite popular albeit a bit dirty in many places. There are several pockets where you can find people fishing for clams, crabs, shell fish etc.

Beautiful Bay!
Oct 2018 • Friends
Extremely Peaceful and quiet. Cute little shopping area that is growing by the day. Only downfall is the ridiculous amount of trash the tourist just leave everywhere! It is safe and with the new international school on the hill- more families are moving into the area.

The Double Moon bay is a gem
Apr 2018
It is very beautiful area, with practically no foreigners visible (as of April 2018). The beaches are busy with locals, ATVs are available to ride at the beach. The nearby turtle park is nice for hiking, but the turtles are not looking well cared for. Avoid going to that turtle containment facility. The food in the nearby villages is excellent, but the beach restaurants are pricey. The area is still under development with several condo buildings popping up.

Nice place, but the entertainment is a bit dull
Feb 2017 • Couples
I went with my father and husband. The beach is among the first category. And the water is close to clear. It's low season here, only a few shops and restaurants are opened. And there are hardly any bars. Good thing is that the place is not a bit crowded. But there are very few entertainment except boat rental to nearby small islands, boat rental for fishing, water motorbike. The weather these days are good, it reaches over 20 Celsius degrees at noon and you'll find some kids swimming in the sea. If you would just like to relax a bit instead of getting much excitements, it will be a great idea to visit there at low season when you find a sunny day in spring. At last, I will not call this place Maldives of China, it is definitely over-exaggerated.

Sunshine and Beach
Jun 2016 • Couples
Here is Xunliao Bay in Huizhou. I went there in the summer. There is a large sea and there are a lot of hotel around the sea. If you want to book a hotel that is facing the sea, you have to book in advance. The day we went to there that we can't check in to this kind of hotel because we have not book in advance. There still have a lot of characteristic hotel that a little bit far away from the sea. One thing that I feel disappointment is there is a lot of rubbish on the sea. If you go there in the morning, you will be dry in the sun. People usually go there at 5 to 6 p.m. because this time will not feel hot and can watch the sunset. I like to go for a walk on the beach at night without slipper. It make me feel very relax.
I suggested that bringing the swimming suit and cap by yourself because it will be very expensive if you buy something in there.

Just Ok
Oct 2016 • Couples
This area is ok, nice hotels but also many hotels that have been stopped building due to the atomic power station that spoils the ocean skyline and the near by busy shipping lane has not helped either.

The ocean water is still swim-able so that is something! but its a crazy situation of government planning spoiling a beautiful scenic spot. Having been there first time 8 years ago, the hotels were there first then the power station and shipping lanes opened up. Disappointing to see that it had been spoiled, but still a good place to visit.

Beautiful secluded beach
Sep 2016 • Friends
This is about 90 minutes from Shenzhen with good traffic. It is beautiful and quiet and was just a great trip. Clean sand and clean water. Bad transport links so I used I tour bus group. It has an island shaped like a lion. You can walk for many miles along the coast
